I sense a new art style. Or at least, softer outlining. It looks great! Could definitely could see it belonging in a small indie game.

Fair enough lol. My main gripe about dairy is less so the digestion issues moreso that it sticks to the mouth and it sucks when you talk a lot or do the singing stuff

Everyone I knew growing up basically said Hail Mary to their lactose intolerance lol

I'd like to believe exposure to dessers make me handle dairy a bit better but even now I sometimes stay away from anything too milky/creamy cause if I forget to hydrate or eat other stuff with it, it sits there

Per your suggestion and Masae’s, I went and made a Drive link for here, hopefully that poses no issues! In the link, I attached the lyrics as a doc and included an audio file. The instrumental was extended and mashed with extra instruments from Garageband. Cheers!

During the holidays before MAG, I decided on a whim to try writing and covering a second verse for Corvid Queen to make an extended version of sorts. I’m not vocally trained nor a musician, but I always enjoyed making song covers for fun and learning backing vocals/ad-libs.

Hey Lacey, it was great to meet you at MAG! I listened to your covers here and there in the past (hell yeah Persona), so I was excited to see you vibing with Masae and arranging Corvid Queen for her Vtuber debut.

Thankfully, most people by now fall into the latter category. Some grow out and realize, some still never do. But when people treat falling outs as games of revenge, they’re not helping people heal. That’s an escape for ignoring self-fragility and hiding their lack of self worth behind another.

As someone who never knew about Emily but was semi-aware of other cases bubbling, it was always going to be a matter of when it all inevitably collapsed. Domino effect is not the same thing as a planned attack. If you pressure people to respond to topics they don’t want, ofc it’s going to escalate.

2. People who were around but never learned to read between the lines and that the people who had grievances with him were all separate situations separate timeframes. There may be some overlap in events, but no one is plotting together to cancel-bomb for clout-seeking.

The other thing important to note is that when the OP mentions him attracting right wing viewers, I would wager this this group is split as such:
1. Strangers who weren’t around pre-2024 and stuck only on the basis of hating Emily for being trans, and then realizing Emile is not who they believed.

If anything, I guess it’s a feat that all that was possible through YT only instead of multiple platforms. But people who give up their individuality and ability to represent for themselves by handing it to another person’s name deprives themselves any chance of growing. It’s parasocial codependency

Unfortunately, him being treated as a figurehead rep of neurodivergent content creators makes it easy to attract people who hide their flaws by projecting onto his personality/content. Some pick consumerism over the artist as a person, others go full on white knights in the wrong places.

It’s easy to remove yourself emotionally from one-time trolls, but the struggle becomes different when they are around more consistently. You can’t really walk out, so you end up occupying the same space as them like awkward roommates and addressing any issues raises the stakes of things going south

You know what feels more frustrating than parasocial or obnoxious strangers in content creator spaces? People whose name you known for a while that started decent but gradually fell off over time. They could become either the emotionally co-dependent/ingratiating type or the insecure incel, and etc.

Ideally, I do like being able to incorporate culture into art pieces, but on a broader scale, I get just as much joy translating ideas/symbolism from one thing to the next. I briefly trained in still life and physical art growing up, so maintaining realism creates authenticity for my personal style.

As someone who dabbles across mediums but doesn’t seek to turn art into a career, for me, that everything I finish/post should feel intentional and indicative of effort. The exploration of ideas and dignity as an artist is far more important to me than fishing for engagement.

The question isn’t necessarily about sociocultural stuff, but examining why art is important to you and how you express your creative identity.

Also included some Banana Bytes group photos. Remembered how contained the group photo was during MAG23-24, I think the fact that not everyone could fit into the frame on time just emphasized how big the turnout really was. So shoutout to the ones who weren’t able to be in frame but was still there!

Thursday drip. I did bring this one during MAG24, but only got to wear it for a few hours so I repurposed it again with some color scheme and silhouette changes. Had at least 3 or 4 people ask me if I based it on a character, so glad it was well received lol. Shame that I forgot to pack my gloves for it, but for the purposes of washing hands, it was more efficient anyway.

Friday drip. You can’t really see it in the selfie, but I went for a bit of a Chinese theme with a tangzhuang jacket behind the scarf. The clothes arrived pretty late before the plane trip, so I didn’t get the chance to alter them and make them more form fitting. Would definitely consider bringing it again next time and make some other adjustments.

Photo with Masae. Her drip game is always on point. Originally, I debated about bringing a leather jacket but I do not know enough about sports jerseys to decide if they work with leather jackets so regular hoodie it is lol. Still, I hope I ended up doing the merch rep some justice. It was good that I didn’t bring lesther anyway cause that night ended up running warm lol.

Been feeling rested after plane trip, so wanted to say, MAG26 was great! Thank you to all the old and new friends I met, really happy with the turnout and how smooth the event felt despite the hotel lottery and initial updates lol. Here’s to hopefully next year attendance!

Writing this all out before NYE gets busy, Happy New Year’s Eve! Part of me feel like I didn’t do much this year, but it’s still great being able to have friends stick by, and within the past few months, I’m growing more appreciative of what the name “Katagi” means to me. Here’s to a good next year!
