It is completely reasonable to email your dean and/or Provost to ask what is being done at your university to stop this from happening to your students

How climate change is impacting drinking water in the US
Climate change is making access to drinkable water more difficult in the United States.
I had a great time talking with @zialyle.bsky.social &
@costasamaras.com about their new study on how climate change poses risks to U.S. drinking water.
Water utilities for roughly a fifth of the U.S. population are at high risk from climate hazards.

I think, or at least i want to believe, that there is enough opposition to this kind of thing that this won't come to pass. Academic common sense will win in the end on this kind of thing.

Kind of my thoughts as well. I have not touched AI and my goal at this point is to avoid using it with the exception of potential environmental/hydrologic modeling applications.

We just found out our AI has been making up
analytics data for 3 months and I'm gonna
throw up.

So we've been using an Al agent since November to
answer leadership questions about metrics. It seemed
amazing at first fast answers, detailed explanations,
everyone loved it.
I just found out it's been hallucinating numbers this
entire time.
Our VP of sales made territory decisions based on
data that didn't exist. Our CFO showed the board a
deck with fake insights. The Al was just inventing
plausible sounding percentages.
I only caught it by accident when someone asked me
to double check something. I started digging, and
holy shit, it's bad.
lol this is gonna burst so fucking hard

I will keep adding entries as they are revealed by detailed searches into the Epstein files. My thread focuses on researchers and academics who, well after Epstein's 2008 conviction, have sought contact with, received funding from, and let themselves be promoted by him.

You can test new tech ideas using the Seinfeld Test
Would the product eliminate the plot of an episode? (Google maps, cell phones, paypal, battery packs)
Good tech.
Would the product inspire new Seinfeld plots? (NFTs, AI chatbots, crypto currency, blindboxes, metaverse land sales)
Bad tech.
