Last time we were stargazing in CO, we saw so many satellites. At first it was cool, then it was distracting. Now there is a proposal to send up a million more. Not sure that is a good idea for many reasons. Public comment period ends very soon. #NightSky #Satellites

Several years ago, I was reminded to always be ready to explain why I am a Christian. I decided to write it down and share it each year as it grows. My reasons range from science to personal experiences. This year I have seen more of the amazing planet (especially mountains) God created for us.
Yeah, wetland restoration is cool and interesting! I wish that were the case for this picture instead of a destructive fire.
Blackened #wood left behind by a huge wildfire near Jasper, Canada. The scene was pretty in an eerie way and provides an example of the growing impacts of #ClimateChange. #BlueSkyArtShow

As I say here, there is no scientific justification to revoke the engagement finding. In fact, over the last 15+ yrs, the evidence of how climate change affects our health has only grown. Higher risk of allergies, dementia, fertility, heart disease, and death: thatβs whatβs on the line. @nature.org

Very unusual weather in Leadville, a town at 10,152 ft in CO, this Dec. High temps soared above 50F 5 times and they set 6 record daily highs. Even crazier, it rained on Christmas Day! Growing up, it would not even rain on Halloween. The weird weather is due in part to human-caused #ClimateChange.

Thanks to @climatologist49.bsky.social for calculating the stats and generating the maps that tell the incredible story of how Christmas 2025 was - by far - the warmest Christmas on record. Some additional details and rather incredible factoids here: tinyurl.com/amvyycfc
Merry Christmas everyone!
I have really enjoyed checking out and participating in the weekly #BlueSkyArtShow over the past year. Today is #OpenHouse and this picture was taken in Vermont.
