as the WSJ article on this strike covers, this is a few hours after Trump's declaration to stop using this AI because they said explicitly that their AI could not be trusted to make these determinations.

Agreed 1000%. you don’t want ai to architect a framework, it just sort of puts stuff everywhere.
but if you just really quickly want it to give you something in its corpus as code, it will give you a mostly working feature with very little fuss, which is pretty wild

interesting fact: i installed fedora on a laptop. wifi didn't work. i installed fedora again and wifi magically worked this time. no changes on my end.

as I go along here ... there's a few things AI does that are pretty pernicious/evil. one is that when you ask it to fix something it will say it's your code. This is extremely not my code - all I've done is fix typos. But if you feel that ownership, you start to feel like you 'need' the AI more.

i also think ai in general is super unethical, so if it actually ends up being usable i'm planning to full open source it. but i felt like i had to see how it would work for this sort of thing.

on the other hand I just asked it to add labels to the GUI, and it sent me a screenshot. so look. it's still fancy autocorrect

i will probably need to review the slopcode and hand-edit to get what i want exactly but it's some wild stuff tbh
