Yes some do self-select out of mainstream discourse because they cannot see beyond own blinkered views, and yes that can make debate feel like treacle. I'm still not persuaded we should build walls and exclude (not that you're suggesting so...), cos that way ruin lies
Some minds cannot be changed, agree - but to exclude from debate is very different to out-competing their ideas to ensure they never achieve such positions of power... Again naive/idealistic maybe, but there you go :-)
