Seems like everyone are given the same cards, so I'm not sure what's the point of the collection is.
JDT and the AFC will drag it out for as long as they can unfortunately, just so they can retain a result that is favourable for them. Same thing for the Malaysia v Vietnam match.
Agreed, if Vietnam want to play at the World Cup and are good enough to be there then they needed to beat Chinese Taipei and won with a larger margin against India. They didn't meet that standard so it makes sense that they were the 3rd best in the group and of all the 3rd-placed teams.
Welp, that's no World Cup qualification or even the inter-continental play-off for Vietnam. Disappointing, but absolutely needed after failing to win both the ASEAN Women's Cup and the SEA Games. That's a sign of stagnation and decreasing for me.

Yup, DΖ°Ζ‘ng Thα» VΓ’n getting subbed off counts as a concussion sub so both teams are okay!
I did mention that when Vietnam lost 1-0 to Chinese Taipei, they made the task a lot tougher for themselves. I think this elimination is necessary for Vietnam to see that the women's team are stagnating and aren't improving that much compared to other nations.
#JPNvVIE #WAC2026
The tactics isn't helping the players either. It's evident when one of the players controls the ball, only one player comes close to offer a passing option, the others are either standing still or just jogging around. No intention to attack from Vietnam against bigger teams.
#JPNvVIE #WAC2026
Potentially the VNese players are too nervous to control the ball and take on the Japanese players. They aren't confident enough to hold on the ball for too long to create anything substantial, and that has been one of the biggest disadvantages for Vietnam.
#JPNvVIE #WAC2026
Welp, now things get complicated between the 3rd-placed teams.
#JPNvVIE #WAC2026
Good result so far for Vietnam and a great effort so far. More of the same in the second half please π
I hate to see the Philippines go out cause they are a fellow SEA country, but Uzbek made it complicated last night.

If Vietnam are to concede two goals or less, Khα»ng Thα» HαΊ±ng deserves a lot of credits for the saves that she has made. Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing her starting over TrαΊ§n Thα» Kim Thanh in goal during the quarter-final.
#JPNvVIE #WAC2026
Ueki is making so many dangerous runs lol, the Vietnamese centre-backs can't even track her or get her offside π
Sheesh that was a good save by Khα»ng Thα» HαΊ±ng. Credits to her ofc

What a cross by Yui Hasegawa *chef kiss*
#JPNvVIE #WAC2026
Not sure why coach Chung decided to rotate the lineup now if the goal is to limit the amount of goals conceded π€¦
#VIEvJPN #WAC2026
Dread of him, run from him, but Darth Sinner always takes the high ground at the end of a match
I hope that won't be the case cause I still hope Vietnam can get into the QFs and crash out, so I can watch them in the play-offs down in the Gold Coast. But I'm not optimistic considering Vietnam have had a history of losing heavily on important occasions.
Theoretically speaking, it also means 2022 SFist Philippines aren't out just yet. I still expect Japan to come out firing and scoring a lot of goals. Given that the Philippines' GD is only -2 and Vietnam's GD is 0, anything more than 3-0 and Vietnam are out.
#WAC2026
That set of results means that there's every chance that a China vs Chinese Taipei quarter-final clash will happen. Expect a lot of fire in Perth π₯

It took me a sec, but the xG dashboard is back for 2026!

Finding out about Sonarqube has to be the biggest revelation for me this year so far, makes code refactoring so much better and enjoyable
Seems like most of the favourites have done that on the 2nd matchday, they just made a lot of rotations to keep their key players fresh for the final matchday. But I think I want to focus more on the on-field performance cause clearly the strength gap between teams was too big.
like at what point (aka how many goals scored) does it stop becoming a sign of respect to play to your full strength and becomes 'okay, clearly you are way stronger than me and are bullying me instead'
#INDvJPN #WAC2026
scoreline like this intrigues me cause it asks the question "is it still a sign of respect to play to a team's full strength when that team is much stronger than the other and are causing more of an humiliation?"
#INDvJPN #WAC2026
And as I wrote this, Sydney went up and scored 2 successive goals π
Victory's defence have been doing well to limit the shooting space for Sydney players. They have been active to jump out and block the shooting chance before Sydney players could even think about making a shot. That's the good stuff.

Don't know if anyone likes to read my tactical notes, but here I am posting one more about the Big Blue (aka Sydney vs Melbourne Victory)!
Vietnam's development curve with women's football has been slow, if not stagnate. A lot of young players coming through, yes, but we need fresh ideas from the coaching staff, and we're not getting that at all. I still respect coach Chung, but we desperately need new ideas.
