The reason why he is so het up over the situation in Gaza and not over the Nazi tattoo is easily: he doesn't give a damn about Jewish lives and refuses to see any situation involving Jewish people and their feelings as complex.

The very existence of the supermarket gives you access to a wider variety of nutrients than your ancestors of 100 years ago. It’s why you are likely taller, stronger, and smarter. Well that and you were protected from many childhood diseases by vaccines and modern medicine.

AnPrims are always so precious about technology. They will talk a big game about the dignity of farming and how collectivization will ease farm/ranch labor, or they romanticize hunting, fishing, or foraging. Yet I don’t see them getting on a boat or a tractor, ever.

So the Black Company takes no prisoners. The first novel throws you in totally in medias re and expects you to tread water until you get it. Book 2 substantially improves everything. Push through.
