A return visit to Mende Brenoux in southern France. Airfield is at 3,362 ft. The few planes I’ve seen arrive have all gone around on 1st attempt to land failing to get the profile correct. First visit , I landed 1st time, but should have gone around! Was ok this time 😀

While hiking, came across a very large #crater in the ground and then found the reason. Had never heard about this before. Failed to get a good picture of the crater but plenty of details and pictures via search engines. Lots of warning signs to keep out 💥

Light aircraft, several years ago returning with family and on short final after 2:30 hour trip, another light aircraft entered the runway. Executed go around and all ok. Raised adrenaline levels though. Other pilot instructed to visit the tower for a chat!
