I just want the many ecosystems of the Earth to thrive. Why is that so much to ask, Homo sapiens? Why? Watershed Resilience Nonprofit Director, Artist, Naturalist, Birder, Podcaster (H2whOa!), Hell-Raiser Extraordinaire, DEI Ally and LGBTQ-r-us

Folks in Maine and Alaska: please call Collins and Murkowski to oppose the confirmation of Casey Means for Surgeon General. They are apparently still on the fence and MAHA is pushing them hard to vote in favor.

And acquire more global properties.

Something Went Wrong The preliminary injunction was in response to a lawsuit filed by the ACLU of Oregon on behalf of protesters and freelance journalists.

Good news! A federal judge in Oregon has restricted federal officers from using tear gas on ICE protesters after a lawsuit by the ACLU of Oregon.

This is how we defend our rights.
This is how we protect our communities.

Time for other states to follow. #ICEout

Almost the entire globe hates us and we hate ourselves. This is not a good story that we’re writing for ourselves right now.

I’ve said since the beginning that they’re not building detention centers solely for β€œdangerous, illegal immigrants”. They’re building them for anyone who opposes. Do you oppose? They’re building it for you.

Even my undergraduate interns at UC Berkeley no not to use the passive. I feel bad for the New York Times having such low standards.

Democrats may not be able to prevent Mullin's confirmation, but they can certainly turn his track record of offense and stupidity into two days of televised humiliation so spectacular that he is wounded in Trump's eyes from day 1. That is the job.

I just saw someone casually mentioning using ChatGPT for a recipe. It's the SAME ONE CLICK to Google any recipe, but one will be wrong and one will be right. And the wrong one is also killing the environment and driving up prices. WHY are people using the wrong one??

Of course not. We wouldn't be in a lot of the disaster we're in. But carrying on the status quo was not an option for too many. So it's apparently breaking before it gets rebuilt. I find the process abhorrent but we couldn't go on. Just look at the Dems even now. Sputtering, with notable exceptions

@sfestuaryinstitute.bsky.social @sfbaykeeper.bsky.social who knows how we track the impacts of mercury in the SF Bay/fish 1845-1900? I was surprised to just find out that the New Almaden mine in SJ on Guadalupe Creek was for cinnabar /mercury! Not sure if it could migrate north in the bay.
