We use the structure strips through all years and slowly take the scaffolding away. This is heavily scaffolded at the start of the year to refresh students memory. I highlighted the first paragraph using the structure (Point Develop Evaluate) and students can choose to continue to do this or not.

First 8 mark question of Y9 on whether Russia is a prisoner of its geography. Intro & first paragraph written collaboratively as a class then students are left to do the remaining paragraphs on their own. This student used the modelled paragraph to produce a great 2nd and 3rd! #geogchat

Recently changed our KS3 reading homework’s to smaller but more challenging readings. This is to support the whole school drive on literacy but to also increase the use geographical terminology within our subject. This is a Y9 example. A success so far. #geogchat
