This is a few questions that came to mind when this announcement came into my email. I have others, but these I think are the most significant right now.
- as far as marketing/communications this announcement leaves possible attendees with more questions than answers while also asking us to pay over almost $900 for next year with no information about the event.
- Some people plan their finances all year to afford CapCon weekend.
- Are there plans for overflow hotels?
- What can be shared about the hotels that would help people make a decision but not give away the hotel or its location?
- Is there going to be a capacity or ticket limit for the event?
- Everyone who is at the Con may be traveling home while the tickets go on sale.
- Staff aren’t even done yet
- Let’s take a week or two and have a planned day away from the Con where everyone has the opportunity to purchase with everyone else.
- Also the opportunity to plan their purchase
I have a lot of questions.
I do think a year in advance is ok, but announcing as such during the event weekend is a poor choice.
