He's trying to spread the blame for his epochal stupidity in setting fire to the Middle East, following the genocidal Netanyahu into the inferno of mass destruction and murder. Own it Donald Trump.

β€˜Drinking from a fetid pond’: superbug-creating genes found in UK’s largest lake Exclusive: Lough Neagh, which supplies drinking water for 40% of NI, contains genes resistant to last-resort antibiotics

If Russia fully joins the Middle East war started by Donald Trump it could end with Israeli cities looking like Netanyahu and Co have done to Gaza. Netanyahu and Trump are the two most dangerous people to the Jewish people since Hitler. The only way forward was diplomacy but that is now roadblocked.

Maybe there should be a Secretary for Legabitraquian Affairs or at least an assistant to the Minister for Equalities.

Can we go back to when excursions were a day trip on a coach from Dublin to bring back giant lollipops and Spangles from Derry?

If I see anything legabitraquian of interest, I will use the word. Otherwise it shall remain a hapax legomenon.

They're into numerology, okay, let's see now "47" that's 4 + 7, that's 11, that's 1 + 1, that's 2. Well it does seem to fit Donald Trump because he and his regime is a big pile of number 2.

One thing that Trump and Netanyahu should realise, and their coterie of sycophants, moneybags and neo-Nazis, might like to keep it in mind too, is that they have legitimised political assassination in their world.

Amid all the horrors inflicted by governments in Tehran, Washington DC, Moscow and others, we also have to bear in mind the horrific situation in Afghanistan where one half of humanity is held in slavery and subjugation by the other half in this world called Earth, the horror show of the universe.

Ronnie Delany’s Melbourne gold remains one of the greatest achievements in Irish sport Memorable Irish track Olympian, a splendid middle-distance champion

A name I grew up with, though his moment of fame was 20 years before I was born. Now, that's the sign of a legend!
Ronnie passed away yesterday at the age of 91. A lovely man that we're the poorer for not having around.

I shouldn't say "cur", I know it's wicked. But what I would say on further consideration is that he has "the look of hate", a bit like in the great photo by Eisenstadt of Goebbels side-eye on him, having learned that Eisenstadt was Jewish. I can't compare my experience of being leathered by the C.B.

At the same time, a country (America) is now jolly good and v rich pals with another (Saudi Arabia) from which all the 9/11 plane hijackers originated, who crashed passenger planes into the World Trade Centre when it was full of people, into the Pentagon, another en route, so therefore bomb IRAN?

If one country (America) overthrows another's (Iran's) elected government, steals their natural resources, the oil, and installs a dictatorial monarch as ruler, they can hardly be surprised to find that there is furious anti-American feeling in that country forever after. Hurt them more is the plan?

I half-expect to hear one day that Jay Graber was an AI hologram in the greatest tech hoax of all time. However, I still trust at present that she's a real person and her Bluesky is a valiant attempt at a good social media network. :)

The only way Iran could become less anti-American now is through a sort of Stockholm Syndrome. And the same as regards Israel. Does anyone expect Iran and Iranians to become any less anti-Israel after the death and destruction rained down on them? What's the bloody point of this stupid forever war?

11.03.2026 13:54 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Hardly any surprise that Iran would be more anti-American after being bombed mercilessly and reckless of schoolchildren and civilians, an ecological atrocity near Tehran and mass destruction of their homes and offices by Israel and the US.

I thought Labour promised to reform the Lords. Just shut it down already and introduce a senatorial system with regional representation and some vestiges of good elements from the old setup, perhaps specialist professorial level involvement elected from universities and something from the religions.

Trump is a compulsive liar. Nothing he says can be taken as anything other than steenking garbage. He should be got rid of in the most expeditious manner possible before he causes any more misery in the world.

Correction: "might as well ask" not "might as well as"

11.03.2026 11:23 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

I read it as "You might as well as men what they think of stone" meaning something like it's pointless and silly to ask a question where the answer is irrelevant. A variation on "Don't ask someone's opinion if you don't value their opinion".

Confucius says

-The commander of the army may be carried off, but the will of a common man can not be made to change.

-If a man does not give thought to problems which are still distant, he will be worried by them when they come close at hand.

Sayings of Confucius and Mencius (Trans. Li Tianchen)

Why Bluesky’s CEO is stepping down at a critical moment for the platform Jay Graber will remain at Bluesky as chief innovation officer, focusing on the platform’s technology as the company hires a new CEO to run its business operations.

#BlueSky Please don’t change all the good things you’ve brought us with this social media platform! Growing is one thing but don’t become like other platforms I.e., former Twitter etc. This has been a safe harbor in the catastrophic storm known as Trump.

You read the fine promises in the Government's VAWG strategy - and then you listen to this.

"I can’t believe what you say, because I see what you do," as James Baldwin noted.

Anyone know why today's BBC TV news bulletins are shown as not available, e.g. it's nearly 4pm and News At One, which I usually watch on catch up is still not available? It's usually available a half an hour or less after the live broadcast. If you saw it live was there something problematic? #BBC

Revealed: UK’s multibillion AI drive is built on β€˜phantom investments’ Exclusive: Rented datacentres and unrealised supercomputer site raise questions for Starmer’s push to β€˜mainline AI into veins of economy’

The multinational companies will put the datacentres, which will be almost unmanned, as overhead cost while sales will be credited to offices based in tax havens. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...
