Yes I listen to what they say.
I also watch what the do.
I hope your faith is rewarded.
I wonder when AI will remind the bosses that without jobs, humans canโt buy what theyโre selling.
Where are the changes to tax laws, negative gearing, real changes that tackle corruption, electoral laws that donโt only help the major parties, outrage at genocide and illegal wars, standing up to America for Australiaโs best interests etc. etc.
They are wasting their huge majority on safety first.
The challenge is Labor continue to stick with Howard policies which, though requiring bravery to change, are the cause of practically al of our issues today.
As my original post said, what choices are there for progressives these day, now Labor seems to sit where the Liberals were.
True.
Sadly, I suspect we have a few more elections of people voting how they always have before they admit it gets them more if the same.
As an aside, itโs 76 seats for a majority.
Queensland says it's tough on hate speech and arrests an 18-year-old student for wearing a shirt that says "from the river, to the sea." Meanwhile the state's One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson, who said there are no "good" Muslims, remains unscathed and even gets a boost in polling.
Wow, really ๐
IMHO, there should be ๐
Phew, the percentage of the 0.1% of Queenslandโs population that found themselves outside Parliament House yesterday will be sooooo relieved.

And child labour.
Is that why he wants us to have lots of kids?
I'm suing Grammarly over its paid AI feature that presented editing suggestions as if they came from me - and many other writers and journalists - without consent.
State law requires consent before someone's name can be used for commercial purposes.

A cartoon by Ron Cobb (1975), showing a shadow of US B-52 bomber above cratered landscape. Two people who look like Vietnamese peasants look up; one says โtheyโre having problems with their economy again.โ
This is from 1975.

Nov 2024, Labor agreed to a procedure committee to examine racism & sexism in Federal parliament. The Committee never met & the imperative lapsed after the last election. Recent attempts to reestablish it were voted down by the coalition and Labor #FFS. #auspol

This is so so upsetting. So Grammerly is violating the memory of bell hooks AND making AI versions of the rest of us before we're even dead. Someone tell me who to sue, not even joking.
But thereโs a certain type of man that loves his cosplay style ๐
I read Tom Gleeson out of touch and wondered how they gave you five stars.
I think that would be the very definition of gonzo.
Four frames. Title: โThe rulesโ. Albo and Penny Wong at a lectern. 1. Albo: โSome of you have asked if rules still apply, so weโd like to clear things up.โ Wong: โObviously we shouldnโt kill!โ 2. Albo: โHowever, if you hurt or kill someone and enough people agree they were bad, then the rules arenโt up to us.โ Wong: โItโs a โmatter for themโโ 3. Albo : โAlso, if you get someone else to do the killing for you and someone accuses you of it, thatโs โa conspiracyโโ Wong: โAgainst the rules!โ 4. Plus, if thousands of innocent people get killed when you kill the bad person, you must focus on the six people you saved.โ Wong: โThatโs the rule!โ
The rules.

A political cartoon by Megan Herbert in which a journalist asks Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, " Have you just committed us to a war?" And the PM responds, " No, I've committed us to a (preemptive retaliatory de-escalation action to protect and defend Australians and other citizens in response to a request by our new strategic partner by sending defensive missiles & surveillance equipment to protect the airspace and assist the region with its collective self-defence against reprisal attacks that come as a result of the ongoing operation launched as an anticipatory response to perceived threats by historical allies acting against the established international rule of law who are too powerful for us to in any meaningful way challenge.) There's a very big difference." The words in brackets are arranged in such a way that they completely fill the word WAR written in a huge, hulking, bold khaki font.
A war by any other name.
