In my continuing quest to escape reality, I did some old-school channel flipping tonight. I came upon Wayne's World and it is so deliciously dumb and a total 90s time capsule. Can we vacation in 1992?
That was one helluva a rocker! #earthquake #SanDiego
I was thinking about this Joe and Tracy anecdote from the supply chain crisis on gummy bears. Things are probably going to get really weird in a few weeks in unexpected ways:
I believe Trump likes to smell his own farts; it doesn't make it true (but probably is).

What a spineless piece of shit. At least own up to what you've done.
This is one of the most inspirational things I've read in weeks.
That was epic!! Congratulations #SanDiegoFC on winning your MLS debut against the LA Galaxy!
Scatterplot titled βEmpirical Evidence of Ideological Targeting in Federal Layoffs: Agencies seen as liberal are significantly more likely to face DOGE layoffs.β β’ The x-axis represents Perceived Ideological Leaning of federal agencies, ranging from -2 (Most Liberal) to +2 (Most Conservative), based on survey responses from over 1,500 federal executives. β’ The y-axis shows Agency Size (Number of Staff) on a logarithmic scale from 1,000 to 1,000,000. Each point represents a federal agency: β’ Red dots indicate agencies that experienced DOGE layoffs. β’ Gray dots indicate agencies with no layoffs. Key Observations: β’ Liberal-leaning agencies (left side of the plot) are disproportionately represented among red dots, indicating higher layoff rates. β’ Notable targeted agencies include: β’ HHS (Health & Human Services) β’ EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) β’ NIH (National Institutes of Health) β’ CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) β’ Dept. of Education β’ USAID (U.S. Agency for International Development) β’ The National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE), despite its conservative leaning (+1 on the scale), is an exception among targeted agencies. β’ A notable outlier: the Department of Veterans Affairs (moderately conservative) also faced layoffs despite its size. Takeaway: The figure visually demonstrates that DOGE layoffs disproportionately targeted liberal-leaning agencies, supporting claims of ideological bias. The pattern reveals that layoffs were not driven by agency size or budget alone but were strongly associated with perceived ideology. Source: Richardson, Clinton, & Lewis (2018). Elite Perceptions of Agency Ideology and Workforce Skill. The Journal of Politics, 80(1).
The DOGE firings have nothing to do with βefficiencyβ or βcutting waste.β Theyβre a direct push to weaken federal agencies perceived as liberal. This was evident from the start, and now the data confirms it: targeted agencies overwhelmingly those seen as more left-leaning. π§΅β¬οΈ
π₯ - If you're a fan of the Tick, then you know this is a battle cry. Go GSA employees πͺ
Doing corporate Code of Ethics training while a corruption blitzkrieg is happening in the US is some wild cognitive dissonance.
This write-up by Heather Cox Richardson is one of the most succinct and thorough on what is happening in Washington.
This story makes my body shake with rage.
The released water serves *no* purpose now (and is in fact dangerous). But we are likely to need this water, desperately, in the summer.
This is an act of economic sabotage targeted at California. Truly vicious.
Unpopular opinion time; I enjoy the Red Hot Chili Peppers right until Anthony Kiedis shows up.
Addendum - Violet Grohl killed it π
Straight into my GenX veins! Nirvana fronted by Annie Clark, Kim Gordon, and Joan Jett in succession π€― #FireAidLA
Is there a more unselfish guitarist than Mike Campbell? What a legend. #FireAidLA
Feeling California tonight.
Please donate to FireAidLA.org - Steve and Connie Ballmer are generously matching dollar for dollar for the concert!

Apple Health just prompted me with a mental health questionnaire, and the results were not encouraging. I want to thank the Trump administration for the severe anxiety and moderate depression risk diagnosis π¬
A lot of folks are about to find out how tariffs really work. Sadly, not Trump, he's too dumb.
It works as a stand-alone; they explain the pertinent character info from Discovery in-show.
π€ #Section31 is a genuinely odd Star Trek property. It felt like a big-budget TV movie or an extended video game cut scene. There were fun moments, fight scenes that went way too long, and bizarre stuff (the doll?). It's not my favorite, but we've survived worse episodes of TNG or DS9.
It's such a fantastic head trip. I find myself trying to solve the mystery of what the heck is going on at Lumon the entire time I'm watching the show π
For the past few years, my wife and I have tried to watch all the Best Picture nominees for the #AcademyAwards. These Gold Knight ballots offer an excellent and concise way to see who's nominated in the major categories:
For the "fuck your feelings" crowd, they sure get their feelings hurt over every grievance. It was a plea for mercy; if you feel persecuted because someone asks you to show compassion and empathy, you're the problem.
100% - and this week itβs important to remember he is at the zenith of his popularity. Governing starts now, and theoretically heβs a lame duck. Itβs going to get less fun for him with each passing day.
Love this piece by Mike Montiero. You'll see a lot less reaction and commentary from me about the Trump administration. Not because I don't care but because I do.
#SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night on Peacock is fantastic if you're looking for a nostalgic escape and insight into the show's inner workings.
Thanks for the kind attention, Apple Podcasts. Thanks to @kathytu.lol for giving me someone to joke with off camera. Listen to @99pi.org please!
