BOS@NYY: Red Sox, Yankees empty the benches YouTube video by MLB

Sox had some good teams in the 70s too, but they'd be the first to acknowledge the Yanks were hardly proper or corporate. Here's Nettles, "corporate" 3rd basemen, throwing a "corporate" right hook at Bill Lee and catching him flush at 1:15. They were warriors/winners

There are lots of articles. I followed the Yanks every day during the 70s - and the 60s and the 80s - and have read Sparky Lyle's "The Bronx Zoo" as well about the '78 season. And I've forgotten more about Martin, Munson, Reggie than they know. Calling those teams "corporate" is just laughable.

Trump Knew the Risk of Iran Blocking the Strait of Hormuz. He Still Went to War. The president told his White House team that Tehran would likely capitulate before closing the strait, the world’s most vital shipping lane.

Before US went to war, Gen Dan Caine, chairman of Joint Chiefs, told Trump an American attack could prompt Iran to close Strait of Hormuz.
Caine said in several briefings that U.S. officials had long believed Iran would deploy mines, drones and missiles to close the world’s most vital shipping lane

Raging at Media, Pete Hegseth Just Said the Quiet Part Out Loud He wants β€œpatriotic” coverage of the Iran War. He doesn’t understand: in a democracy, coverage that asks difficult questions of the government is itself β€œpatriotic.”

Pete Hegseth wants to live in a world in which the US military can drop bombs on scores of children and face no serious media scrutiny for it. His vile claim that he can't wait for David Ellison to run CNN shows he pines for oligarchic control of media.

Blatantantly unconsitutional and ripe to be overturned. Equating dissent with terrorism is authoritarianism.

W. Bush's lies had a longer shelf life, only because the sheer volume of Trump's lies over the past decade has pushed them way past their expiration date.

While every single reference to war with Iran for the last four decades has noted its ability to close the Strait of Hormuz, that fact somehow escaped our Stable Genius President and his coterie of fascist enablers -- this might have something to do with his military and political predicament.πŸ™„

Note to Attorney Box-O-Wine: Allowing a vindictive president to harass independent fed chairs on a whim and without any evidence whatsoever, is not "American justice"; it's unbridled authoritarianism.

Federal judge calling out Trump's brazenly unconstitutional and retaliatory vendetta against Jerome Powell. It would be nice if our crack media were more pointed about this despicable, authoritarian behavior.

The Trump White House is stupid, venal, corrupt and callous. Is their next video going to be about how they "successfully" killed hundreds of young Iranian school girls??

Yes, and he's despicable. Yet 70% of Jews voted against Trump - the highest percentage of any group other than black voters. So fortunately, most black people and most Jews know better than to emulate Shaq or Miller.

We should all be very afraid of what this idiot president is willing to do to save his polling numbers, with the understanding that he was dumb and dangerous enough to start the war without realizing Iran would close the Strait. END/

I once met Mantle, and it was not exactly memorable. But watching him play for a decade was thrilling. And in '68 on Memorial Day - his career ending and barely able to run - I was at the Stadium as he went 5 for 5 with two homers and 5 RBIs. Great story.

Gamble's afro may have been trimmed, Reggie's was not. And Thurman's walrus mustache, and the cacaphony that was the 70s Yankees, was hardly "corporate". It was the Bronx Zoo for a reason. They were boisterous, aggressive, combative - and that was just with themselves. Oh, and they were great.
