The Karner Blue Butterfly keeps drawing me inβits colors shift by gender, and it adores the lupine flower, which I had to include. The background swirls and swoops, capturing its delicate flight. Whatβs your favorite endangered butterfly?

Thatβs some good company! I liked the postcard phase, what else goes on the fridge.
What a pal!
What a fabulous resource!!
Thanks for the note Angela. Some of those post cards hung around! Sometimes I still see them. Hope you have a satisfying and delightful studio practice.β€οΈ
Every urn I carve tells the story of an endangered species, making the unseen, seen. This video dives into why I do it, what it means, and the impact I hope it has. If this resonates with you, tag your friends or reshare to help spread awareness. π¦π’π¦€

Sweet pup! Thanks for sharing βΊοΈ
Ohhhhhh, look at that cutie!!!
Meet Stella, my studio pup. She makes sure I donβt get lost in carving by demanding regular ball-throwing breaks, forcing me outside and into fresh air. She keeps me grounded, and honestly, the studio wouldn't be the same without her.
Who has a four-legged coworker keeping them in check?
Each week, Iβll share an urn and the story of an endangered species Iβve carved. First up: Contra Costa goldfields, a rare Bay Area wildflower. Thanks to grazing cattle, theyβre making a hopeful return. Have you spotted these golden blooms in California? πΌ

Making urns for each species in the US β whether endangered, threatened, recovered, or extinct. Itβs a journey of 1100 pots, a mix of emotions from overwhelming to inspiring. Yet, thereβs a sense of purpose and growth. Sharing ideas, building skills, and making an impact within my community.
Ohhh I love these plates!!!
These are beautiful!
Thanks!!!
Thsnks Angela! You to!!
I am a potter, not a scientist, but I am using my craft to bring attention to endangered species. This project began with a question: "How can I use my skills to raise awareness and spark change?"
So, I am carving a burial urn for each endangered species in the continental US.

I love this! Bringing awareness to the little ones. I wish I could!
