@harrisongg.com Thanks for both the @pagecord.com and @echofeed.app introduction! You were the first to point me to them. Excited to use them together!
So sorry for the feed spam. Just updated my Pagecord site with a custom domain name (aaronjz.com if you haven't already noticed) and my Echofeed decided everything was new. Apologies! But glad to start this new journey using @pagecord.com as my main blogging site!

Testing out Pagecord. I like the simplicity of design and ease of use so far.

What I'm looking for in a blog setup
I've been on the lookout (https://bsky.app/profile/aaronjz.bsky.social/post/3mf3f55r6oc2i) for a blog host with these qualities:

I am not AI
I am more than LLMs or any kind of machinery could ever reproduce of me.
I am more than spoken or written words.
I am not 1s and 0s.
I am an embodied spiritual being.
I am my nuanced facial expressions and knowing looks.
I am my aging face.

Presence-time
I'm thinking about the quality of time I spend with my 3 year old son. He's all about spending time with me, which I'm so grateful for. He told my wife the other day, "Daddy plays with me because he loves me." It warms my heart to know that he know... https://aaronjz.com/presence-time
Learning out loud
It seems like ideas that stick are those that are tested by feedback. I have often been afraid of feedback. Still am, actually. I think it's maybe because I fear others would agree with my worst thoughts about myself, and one of the main th... https://aaronjz.com/learning-out-loud
Outside our screens
More life exists
outside our screens
than inside them.
Make no mistake:
we cannot survive
in 2D space.
Live in 3D.
Breathe outdoor air.
Squint in sunlight
until your eyes
adjust to celestial
rays. You’ll see.

Reality over virality
It has become increasingly apparent that the days of reaching the masses through the Internet are rare. It is still possible for others to discover your work, but it will not be automatic. The filter bubble effect of the algorithm m... https://aaronjz.com/reality-over-virality
The hateful siege of years
This is a phrase Achilles uses to describe aging in such a strong and sad way – time’s effect like a siege against our lives.
I imagine Death riding on its pale horse, lording over the army of time. Years, minutes, se... https://aaronjz.com/the-hateful-siege-of-years
The en dash
Life is a flash,
An en dash
From start to finish.
The shortest elegy:
A line etched
In stone and eternity.

One of the most important things you can do in the age of AI is invest time into things that make you human

Updated my thoughts on this @pagecord.com post here: aaronjz.pagecord.com/what-im-look.... I've also refined and expanded my list a bit.
Beautiful work, and such a beautiful location.
Thanks for doing that! I'll give it test run. Appreciate the proactive assistance!
I agree with you! I actually made a Pagecord account earlier today to test. Giving it a try, as well. Thanks for the reply!
I enjoy watching the videos 80,000 Hours has put out about AI technology. They are some of the best explainer videos I’ve seen on the subject – very thorough, very helpful toward a better understanding. The most recent video: The AI book that’s freaking out national security advisors.
Testing out micro.blog. I love the POSSE method, and it’s cool that this is baked into this platform. Outside of integration with standard.site, it checks off most of the items on this list, including the ability to post from anywhere, something I forgot to note. Trying it out for a bit.
We have watched it so many times in our household. Having a three year old gives me an excuse to watch it even more. Brings tears to my eyes nearly every time. This team did a fantastic job, from animation to soundtrack.
Amusing Ourselves to Death (1985) and/or Technopoly (1992) by Neil Postman. He's a great writer! And the material is so immediately relevant to our digital/screens age, almost prescient. Highly recommended those books.
So cool! What is this?
> …It is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succour of those years wherein we are set, uprooting the evil in the fields that we know, so that those who live after may have clean earth to till. What weather they shall have is not ours to rule. - Gandalf
With my wife at the Native Plant Society of Texas symposium in Austin. Really good group of people seeking to help Texas flourish.
Beautiful photo, and beautiful location! I lived in the PNW for 7 years. Loved visiting the falls. Thanks for sharing.

New post on my site: Outside our screens. A poem about living in 3D.
This is a good game! Got my coworkers on it today.
Gorgeous photo! Thanks for sharing!
