Where as with a red filter 3 stops slower exposures will be in the 5-10second or longer so you don't need to be as accurate on timing. Longer exposure means you get nice soft clouds and water and foliage as it moves.

For colour I always had good results with kodak

Different film has different response though, fomapan needs real long exposures. Rollei retro 400 is one of my favs, also tri-x and tmax.

I use a red filter with 400iso film as in daylight the exposure is short around a second, which is harder to get right.
