I just finished this book last Friday. It's a charming read. Your boys are adorable.

Soooooooooooo... Turns out these Lepus Rabbits make pretty good coloring book pages.
Logging that information away for potential future projects.
I guess there's a lot of ways that can go. I know the crap my friends and I gave each other was genuinely meaningful in the moment, but that meaning often disappeared after the gifting was over and the item reverted to garbage once more.
Oh, I remember the "This scrap means something" phase of childhood. I think I still have some of the lost buttons my friends gave me after finding them on the playground.
A cartoon rabbit jumps while holding a basketball up in one paw, perhaps about to attempt a sweet dunk. Neatly colored with fine Crayola crayons.
We also have a guest colorist this week. My 4-year-old niece watched me draw this rabbit and HAD to get in on the action.
(This is the younger sister of the niece who usually asks me to share her art here. Yes, a four-year-old can color in the lines that well, we're all really proud of her.)

When I was still making my first webcomic, my website would sometimes crash. I would have this moment of wondering if my comics had gone viral and a wave of web traffic had crashed my server. Was this the beginning of newfound success?
It turned out my first web host was just really crappy.
Penelope is being treated for an infection and she's figured out the medication schedule. Twice a day, she treats me like her worst nightmare, but the rest of the day, we're cool.
It's like living in one of those Looney Tunes cartoons where the coyote and the sheepdog clock in and out.
It would be hilarious if that were part of his powers.
Doctor: You lungs have expanded several more chambers, similar to a spider's "book lung"
Peter: What? Are you sure?
Doctor: Haven't you noticed how you can keep talking while doing all that climbing and fighting?
I like both simple stories and complex stories, but there's a special place in my heart for simple stories that have depth if you choose to look beyond the surface. I like it when people can chose their level of engagement.
Back when I was teaching elementary, I dealt with teacher impersonation accounts (pre-AI, though).
These kids' brains are in a strange state of development. They don't even hate their teachers, they just block out the concept of consequences for them.
As usual, AI makes existing problems worse.
I've been saying, "Read my comics to spite my enemies"
In all honesty, I think most of my enemies don't fully remember me.
If they saw you reading my comics, they might think, "Who is that? Oh yeah, I don't want that one having any success. That sucks"
Are you going to let them get away with that?
I'm putting my past Super Mario art in a thread for
#Mar10day
The literal finish line may be a good place to end this thread. I probably have a few more pieces knocking around somewhere, but 20 feels like enough.
Here's something unique: An unused piece of animation from Aria Kart. I made a few "Crossing the finish line" animations from different perspectives. This one turned out to be unnecessary, as it didn't match the final stage blocking.

GOAL! (You can hear the music playing, can't you?)

Mario, Luigi and friends lift Nabbit up to celebrate his victory.
Another scene from the Nabbit comic, in which Nabbit is finally hailed as a hero.

Mario driving a giant boot on wheels
Pencil drawing of a concept to make the Mario 3 boot into a Mario Kart race car (get on this, Nintendo). Trivia: This was drawn before the boot on wheels was included in Paper Mario: The Origami King. I drew this in the lobby at MAGfest 2019.

Mario and friends ride on the Yoshi dinosaurs. Each Yoshi's color matches its rider's clothes.
Yoshi Rainbow. This one's a little low-res. Might be another good candidate for a redraw.

Good gravy, I have more pieces than I realized. Still haven't reached the end yet.
Sprites fro Mario, Luigi, Super Mario, Super Luigi, Toad, Princess Peach, and Bowser. The top row is redrawn sprites and the bottom row is the original versions.
Remember the year everyone tried to redraw the pixel sprites from the original Super Mario Bros?

Luigi, wearing a frog suit, and Mario, wearing a tanooki suit, visit the seven kings from Super Mario 3. Each king is wearing an animal costume, similar to the animals they were transformed into in the game.
This was a piece I called "Cosplay Kings." Inspired by Super Mario 3 (original version) and fursuiters.
BTW, If you enjoy my Super Mario stuff, odds are good that you'll love my original comics, which draw a lot of inspiration from video game quests. www.lepusstudios.com/comic/dw-ch1...

Fancy Lakitu, a sort of mascot for Aria Kart.
Opera is not a dead medium and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Three Koopa Troopas
Koopa illustration to match the puppets.
Fun Fact: The scarves were inspired by Kooper from Paper Mario. I decided they should wear scarves so their signature colors would be more visible on stage.

The Koopa puppets from Super Smash Opera presents Aria Kart. I designed and made all three of them.
