This image features a split design. On the left, there's a drawing of a pen with the text "What is a zine?" followed by an explanation: "Zines are DIY booklets made by collaging text and art together to share personal stories and interests, often underrepresented by mainstream media." On the right, there are nine zine covers displayed in a grid, including titles like "Stolen Sharpie Revolution," "Make a Zine," and "Moxie." Each cover has a distinct, colorful design.

The best thing about zines (pronounced "zeens") is that anyone can make them – they're easy, cheap, and can explore any topic or theme. Want to learn how to make your own? Check out these books to get connected to zine-making’s rich history and culture.

I was wondering how long after β€œthe death of the paperback” was announced that we would see someone trying to reinvent the concept of pocket-sized books. Took about 5 minutes. #LivingBookHistory

A viral video series is breathing life into one of the country’s oldest Black history museums Staff at Detroit’s Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History are spoofing what it is like to work at the legendary institution from a distinctly Black perspective.

β€œBy the 135th St B/C subway station” makes me think it’s at that public plaza just above the subway entrance at St. Nicholas Park. Lovely area. On sunny and warm days, I’ve walked there from my job to have lunch in that park. And at least once, I’ve sat in that plaza after work and people-watched.

For many Black women, the Target boycott is not over. It may never be. A faith leader announced the end of a yearlong β€œTarget fast,” but many Black women who helped launch the boycott say the movement wasn’t his to call off.

We spoke to Black women who started the Target boycott & who sustained it for a yr+. They'll likely never go back.

Teacher Laverne Mickens put it like this: β€œ[Black women] will say if & when it’s over. And I can tell you right now: That will be the 15th of never ever.”

Target has made no concessions on DEI literally none. Didn’t even make a public apology! I bet my life that Jamal Bryant was paid off. Because absolutely nothing has changed that would justify returning to that store

Will this be a storyline on RHOP? Is he doing it to pay for the twins college?

TJ’s one-pound bag of pumpkin seeds is more than what I needed for the trail mix, but they’re tasty on their own. Will probably pack them as part of my lunch next week or save them for my next batch of trail mix. Judging from my last post, one batch of trail mix lasts me about two weeks lol πŸ˜†πŸ˜‹ #DIY
