Not sure how selling it about would work, as the new owner would need to sign the same contracts with Varjo, business terms. I can't even legally open the device to service it... Its serial is probably linked to my Varjo account. It do be unlocked model without subscription tho.

I don't think they disable headsets like that, but rather force me to use specific headset and GPU driver versions, that might have other issues like security holes.

Varjo Base only works on Windows. There's no way I'm upgrading to Windows 11. Looks like a single company is cucking me to use a software stack that no longer gets updates. Can't wait for #SteamFrame and #Linux.

Varjo discontinued support for Gen-3 headsets, so V4.14 of their software will remain the newest version to support my #Varjo #XR-3 headset. This means I am one GPU update away from turning a 6000€ mixed reality headset into a paperweight. So far I got 3 years of use of it.

Managed to update the self-hosted Google Photos alternative #Immich from v1.120.2 to v2.5.6! 🎉 It only took 7 hours and a lot of help from Gemini Pro Deep Research. Immich is a super good app, but jesus, the database version migration was difficult after their architecture change... 😅
