I have a new poem out today in @rogueagent.bsky.social titled "Not Quite Gone."

It’s an exploration of the paradox I live with: the desire for visibility versus the distress of being watched. This poem lives in that quiet, stubborn space where I figure out how to exist in the midst of existing.

A digital illustration featuring Marshmallow from the animated series Bob’s Burgers dressed as a cowboy, standing next to a large chalkboard. The chalkboard contains the following text in a white, serif font:

"I wish for you what you wish for trans people. I wish for you what you wish for immigrants. I wish for you what you wish for the unhoused. I wish for you what you wish for drug addicts. I wish for you what you wish for the mentally ill. I wish for you what you wish for the most vulnerable of our society."

Two Poems by MaudieΒ Bryant What I Miss Is Fiction I do not miss her.I miss the certainty that she was good. The mirror I polished every time she smiled. The softness I swaddled with her silence. She never said the cruel things. She let them bloom in the aftermath. The truth came with teethβ€”β€”blades tucked inside lullabies, inferno dressed as candlelight. Not every ghost deserves an altar.

Maudie Bryant doesn't grieve the blades tucked into lullabies, today at Villain Era! πŸ–€πŸ”ͺ

Officially picked up my plaque for the 2025 Ephraim Tyler Poet of the Year award this weekend.

This honor was given earlier this year at Speak Poetry Fest by POETIC X, and picking it up this past Saturday (on Apollo’s birthday) felt like the perfect alignment.

Verse & Vision Poetry Battle to be held at The Winn Center Talented poets will be showing off their talent during the Verse & Vision Poetry Battle on Dec. 19.

I didn’t make the news meeting (except for my lil head on the flyer πŸ˜‚), but I’ll be in this poetry event tomorrow evening with a bunch of Shreveport talent. Like Tee Winn says, it’s a competition, but we’re not enemies. Looking forward to vibing and hearing what everybody brings to the mic.

Currently regretting the gas station mocha I drank this morning because I felt like getting a "treat." πŸ’©

On the bright side, Spotify Wrapped is out! Of course my top song is @alliex.music-social.com's "Is Anybody Out There." A soundtrack befitting a morning spent questioning my life decisions.

A full-length view of a painting-in-progress on a long, narrow canvas with a bright mint-green background. A figure wearing a tailored brown jacket, white shirt, and a deep green bow tie stands centered. The head is replaced entirely by an open birdcage. Butterflies are depicted escaping the cage, with two butterflies flying freely above it. The figure’s face is missing, suggesting a focus on constraint and liberation.

A close-up view of a painting-in-progress featuring the upper torso of a person in a heavily patterned, vivid purple jacket with a white pearl cluster brooch on a yellow background. The jacket has yellow textured fabric underneath. The figure’s neck is replaced by an extended coiled spring, which supports a serene face with short purple hair, backlit by a bright halo. The image is cropped diagonally, emphasizing the texture and color.

The academic mind prison is almost lifted. Getting my hands in some paint as soon as this semester is over!! πŸ€ͺ These two are on the easel first. Ready to ditch the grading for the grinding.

It's amazing how a few weeks away from a poem makes you see the cracks in it. Time is the best editor. Patience is better than any craft book.

πŸ”₯ The 2026 FISH List is out! Audi Locus jumped nearly 100 points from last year. That’s not luck; that's doing the work.

For the uninitiated: the FISH List ranks thousands of indie lit-mags, weighing submission practices, longevity, and editorial rigor to point you toward venues worth your words.

Since people find being hopeful and optimistic so cringe these days, let me remind you once again that there isn’t a single liberation movement in the world that wasn’t built on hope and optimism.
