There are 4 major/systemic banks in Greece at the moment.

None of them supports the use of authenticator apps. They force people to use the ancient and unencrypted SMS for 2FA.

When I asked one of them why, they replied:
"You have to file a formal (printed) question via your lawyer".

I recently emailed a Greek telecom company asking why they don't allow users to set their own (more complex) password if they wish.

Their answer was: "Not all people are equally skilled with computers".

This mentality is the status quo across the country.

We have electricity by accident.

Motorola News | Motorola's new partnership with GrapheneOS Motorola announces three new B2B solutions at MWC 2026, including GrapheneOS partnership, Moto Analytics and more.

This is huge news for smartphone security and breaking the ios/android duopoly. Perhaps my next phone will be a Motorola.

How much time did that save me ? Wrong question.

For the two first, I simply would have never accomplished them on my own. I just don't have the skills for that kind of task.

Especially the regular expressions on the maillog tool gave even claude Opus a really really hard time.

Over the past 2 months I used claude code to:

- Write a maillog analyzer which I use to fight outgoing spam on my servers. ๐Ÿน
- Streamline complex sql queries so that I finally have great business reports. ๐Ÿ’ช
- 100+ small bug + UI fixes and tiny improvements that give my customers a far better UX. ๐Ÿ˜€

I wouldn't call anthropic's $100/seat expensive as it has saved me literally thousands in developer wages I would otherwise have to pay to get the same results.

Great ROI + no surprises in the bills... How can you not buy that ?

Oh damn. Barbie's browser....

Exactly.

The last gen M4 mba is under 1000 as we speak. (16gb ram)

Even user C is better off spending 200 more for a great laptop with 5-6 years lifespan.

User A, my sister. 10 hours/month MS office use + some email. I recommended a 300โ‚ฌ HP laptop. Works fine. An extra 400 spent would be pointless.

User B, me, pro. Why buy 8GB to save only 200โ‚ฌ?

Neo ain't the best at neither price or performance. It's not the best pick for 95% of the people.

The people that apple targets with this product are way better off with a 400โ‚ฌ chrome book or ubuntu laptop.

But it *really* is a phone cpu. ๐Ÿคฃ

Some people could get by even with a 10 year old computer. This doesn't make neo a nice buy. It is a computer with the most important parts reduced for only a minimal price reduction. It is poor VFM.

8GB will struggle basic web browsing in a couple of years.

MBA M4 has 16GB and a real CPU for only 200 more. This Neo thing is the netbook Steve Jobs fought against.

Judge them by their actions not their words.

This is the fairy-tale they tell to the domestic audience. Don't take it very seriously. Obviously the US wanted to invade.

I don't get why banks and car companies adore putting PDFs all around their websites as if their CMS is on strike.

As if anybody prints anything anymore...

Hired a business/life coach last week. Best thing ever.

Energy & clarity up.
Stress way down.

They are playing a different game and targeting a completely different market segment.

Our beloved earth has doubled its population over the past 50 years adding over *4 billion* new people. Gas emissions have doubled as well.

But people believe that recycling some bottle caps will help save the environment.

The best server software is made by "server people", not UI/UX people. The best AI software is made by "AI people", not UI/UX people.

The best software is likely a bit harder to use.

UX is a nice-to-have, not a necessity. Obsessing over ease of use makes one lose focus from real value.

I've completely replaced OpenAI with Anthropic.

Two cars can be both running at 100km/h but pointed at different directions. Benchmarks would be helpful *IF* chatGPT & codex were tuned in the direction of providing results.

OpenAI seems focused on market share, not on providing value.

As (probably) the only Cretan on your feed I'd like to gift you my latest olives #wallpaper for your phone.

You can now have a touch of the mediterranean islands right in your pocket.

If ever move away from my island, I'll always miss this exact shade of green which always helps me focus.

We can produce all the tech in the world. But there is no fix for the real bottleneck. People using our products.

14.02.2026 13:20 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

To be honest I quickly "scanned it".

But my comment touches a somehow different aspect. The final consumers/users of our software are often paralyzed by "too much change". This explains why people still use film filters on instagram and buy vinyl.

14.02.2026 13:20 ๐Ÿ‘ 0 ๐Ÿ” 0 ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1 ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

This ain't new. Humans were always the bottleneck before as well. Then in tech adoption, now both in adoption and production.

"Traditional" SaaS behemoths like Zendesk, Quickbooks, Asana and others should already be firing people.

They are getting disrupted as we speak and will lose the lower end of their customer base in the next few years.

The AI-gloss-features they are adding now can only delay the inevitable.

Just threw 90% of my "great app ideas" to the trash.

Anything your target customer's IT dept can do in a week using claude code (aka 99% of "simple" software) is simply a bad idea from a business perspective.

Software devs need to up our game and find a new gen of *really* hard problems.
