They must be getting desperate π€£
We are THERE! Letβs talk healthcare and the Medicaid cuts in the budget that Rep Crenshaw voted for! #SaveMedicaid
βMedicaid recipients with earnings at or above the federal poverty line would have to pay SIGNIFICANT OUT-OF-POCKET EXPENSES for their HEALTH CARE coverageβ¦β All for billionaire and corporate tax breaks
#HandsOffOurMedicaid
This right here- the estimated $500-600B cuts to Medicaid in the current budget WILL cut services. Including to the βable bodiedβ ppl they want to kick off, who get cancer! And injuries! #HandsOffOurMedicaid
What can you do? Call up your reps and tell them "Hands Off Our Medicaid!!" 12 GOP house reps have already signed onto this letter stating "we cannot...support a final reconciliation bill that includes any reduction in Medicaid coverage for vulnerable populations." 5/5

Did we need these cuts to "balance the budget"? NO! The budget also extends the provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. This was the law that cut the CORPORATE TAX RATES from 35% to 21%. So...in order to keep that going now...they're cutting legit services to working people. 4/5
So to cut $880B from the House E&C budget, the majority will have to come from federal Medicaid $$. It's estimated that there will be $500-600B in cuts to Medicaid over the 10 years. 3/5
This linked CBO letter shows that the total 10-yr budget for this office is ~$8,791B. And of this, $8,209B is federal Medicaid spending! That's 93% of the House Energy and Commerce committee spending! Only $582B goes to all their other responsibilities *combined*
