An annotated map of the solar system with hundreds of solar elements in beautiful rings
Beautiful graphic of the day (because that should be a thing: Our Solar System
By my data hero Eleanor Lutz
A map of the world where many countries are coloured in grey and some are in orange-red colouring. The coloured countries mostly lie in Africa and Central America. The title reads: Populations younger than Wikipedia The subtitle reads: Today, Wikpedia turns 25 years. In some countries the median age is below 25 years. This means that in these countries at least half of the population is younger than Wikipedia. The darker the color, the lower the median age, down to an alarming 14.6 in Central African Republic. Nations in grey have a median age above 25. Data sources: UN, World Population Prospects (2024) β processed by Our World in Data
Today @wikipedia.org turns 25 years. Let's appreciate this monumental project of open knowledge and international collaboration!
Without open knowledge, data and transparency we cannot see uncomfortable facts and where humanity need to act.

Do you know the name Dorothy Hansine Andersen?
She was the first researcher and physician to discover cystic fibrosis and its autosomal recessive inheritance pattern. As a pathologist, she recognised distinctive organ damage in the pancreases and lungs of deceased children with celiac disease.

With #FindMe2care we connect patients with rare genetic diagnoses to research, clinical trials, and patient organizations.
Excited to present our platform at #ESGCT2025! Curious? Let's chat during breaks or meet me at the poster session tomorrow, P1111.

Chart showing how rankings of passports have changed over time, split by region with top one in each highlighted. European are ranked high, and UAE has had a dramatic rise.
There was lots of data to play with for #TidyTuesday this week where we're looking at the power of different passports! βοΈ
I decided to try out the idea of using small multiples and highlighting to untangle a spaghetti chart with lots of lines π

Amazing, as always!
Adding to the gazillion other #moon images for todayβs lunar eclipse: despite the initial clouds, I finally got a view of the moon and enjoyed a lovely evening watching the sky!

A small sign in front of a little river. The sign says βwaterβ in two languages, telling you the obvious.
Your average #code comment: βwaterβ
Great collection of responses in the replies here for anyone interested in coding with #Rstats / #Python for economic applications #EconSky
Ok #GPT5, how many Bees are in this picture?
A Startrek meme of a scene where a Cardassian torturer tries to break Cpt. Picardβs will and force him to repeat a false claim as truth. In this version, adapted to the blueberry context, Picard insists that there are only two βbβ in blueberry.

I sometimes fired your up python/ pandas just for its read_html() function.
With one line I got a list of all html tables found at a given url, which you can then write to a csv individually.
And then I went back to #rstats - obviously
Really excited to see what people will share from #eshg2025 today. Iβm already seeing really interesting bits from the ESHG-Feed.
If you want to read all posts in one βunified timelineβ, I recommend checking this out π
This is really interesting!
π’ Follow ESHG on Bluesky! @eshg.bsky.socialβ¬!
Weβve prepared a starter package to help you join easily.

Letβs build the ESHG community together!
What session is this? Those are interesting questions and results. Did they publish related data?
Itβs new to me as wellβ¦ Since Iβm not attending, I could take the time figuring it out π
You can pin this next to your default "Following" feed to access it easily during the next days:
@juhumgen.bsky.social and @eshgyoung.bsky.social maybe you want to share this to spread the word? π
From now on all posts should be included automatically. I tried to capture all previous posts retrospectively, but might have missed a few.
π£ PSA: if you want to follow along what's going on during this year's @eshg.bsky.social conference in one feed, follow this feed that collects all posts using #eshg2025 or #eshg25!

Does anyone know of good custom feed generators for Bluesky that donβt require coding or setting up your own server?
Getting ready for #eshg2025 β¦and our postdoc @lydiasagath.bsky.social made a nice BINGO card again.
Paying a lot of attention to the entire event will pay off!
