At the beginning of the pandemic some disabled people felt hope.
We saw inclusion and accessibility improve overnight.
We saw accommodations put in place that we had spent years begging for.
We saw the world adapt.
That hope was ripped away during the rush back to normal.
It still hurts.

Itβs Long Covid Awareness Day (which I think should be the Ides of March, for reasons that will become clear.)
Some of you have heard this before. But I wanted to share my Long Covid story, because I think you should hear it.
On my birthday in November 2022, I woke up with Covid.

When I ask people to mask itβs not out of a virtuous superiority or even an ethical code. It is because I am in the depths of this hellhole, and I am *screaming* at you not to come down here, and definitely not to shove anyone else in.

Important story here from @jeffreybgray.bsky.social. Our repeatedly ethics-challenged premier is trying to escape scrutiny & accountability.

Persistent attenuation of lymphocyte subsets after mass SARS-CoV-2 infection
Growing evidence suggests that lymphocyte subsets are declined in COVID-19 patients, but it is unclear if these alterations persist after widespread eβ¦
βOur findings redefine SARS-CoV-2 infection as a condition of long-lasting immune compromise.β
At this point, I genuinely have no ability to comprehend how is anyone not scared sh*t-less about the long-term consequences of infections, especially on kids?

January 2021 was the deadliest month of the pandemic. 3000 Americans died daily, 95,000 in total.
And Prasad was *mocking* people for avoiding COVID.
Shame on anyone who treated him as a good faith actor or serious thinker.
Letβs be honest about his record.

Testing and masking were big improvements to air travel. Instead of being dismantled, they should have been extended.
They would have significantly mitigated the impact of this irresponsible unvaccinated traveler, by preventing boarding and by lowering the level of virus exhaled & inhaled.

My parents were the only people wearing masks in the cancer ward during my dadβs treatment last year. Lucked out and didnβt get sick during the procedures for which he had to be sedated.
My mom mentioned another patient who looked very frail, caught a cough, then suddenly wasnβt there anymore.

Franzi Schimmer captured this Grizzly bear in Brooks Falls, Alaska just floating along, tippy-tapping down the river, browsing the salmon.
Prior to hibernation, up to 40% of a bear's body mass is fat, which is less dense than water (~0.9 g/cm^2), so the murder-monster is also a floaty-boaty.

FDA refuses to review Modernaβs influenza vaccine
FDA refuses to review Modernaβs influenza vaccine, which could raise concerns about the agencyβs posture toward vaccines and drug approvals more generally.

It is absolutely outrageous that Modernaβs flu vaccine was met with a βrefusal-to-fileβ even after their approved their protocol with FDA and carried out the trial as agreed. This vaccine works better in older adults than the current flu vaccines.

These numbers speak for themselves.
Over a three-year span, a surgical device (without AI) was reported to the FDA seven times for malfunctioning and once for causing injury (unconfirmed).
Since AI was added in 2021 there have been at least 100 reports of malfunctions and adverse patient events.
