At the beginning of the pandemic some disabled people felt hope.

We saw inclusion and accessibility improve overnight.

We saw accommodations put in place that we had spent years begging for.

We saw the world adapt.

That hope was ripped away during the rush back to normal.

It still hurts.

Why do progressives and justice advocates seem to not care about COVID? It’s still important to warn people about the dangers of COVID and make schools and workplaces safe, Andrew Wilkin says.

It’s Long Covid Awareness Day (which I think should be the Ides of March, for reasons that will become clear.)

Some of you have heard this before. But I wanted to share my Long Covid story, because I think you should hear it.

On my birthday in November 2022, I woke up with Covid.

When I ask people to mask it’s not out of a virtuous superiority or even an ethical code. It is because I am in the depths of this hellhole, and I am *screaming* at you not to come down here, and definitely not to shove anyone else in.

Important story here from @jeffreybgray.bsky.social. Our repeatedly ethics-challenged premier is trying to escape scrutiny & accountability.

Using March's last #GiftLink 🎁 to share. Also, it's still being updated so make sure to check it later.

As I’ve been saying for six years, you cannot decide to shut off empathy in just one lil area (all of disabled and vulnerable people.) Endangering people for your convenience and comfort is a drug you do not do recreationally.

January 2021 was the deadliest month of the pandemic. 3000 Americans died daily, 95,000 in total.

And Prasad was *mocking* people for avoiding COVID.

Shame on anyone who treated him as a good faith actor or serious thinker.

Let’s be honest about his record.

Testing and masking were big improvements to air travel. Instead of being dismantled, they should have been extended.

They would have significantly mitigated the impact of this irresponsible unvaccinated traveler, by preventing boarding and by lowering the level of virus exhaled & inhaled.

My parents were the only people wearing masks in the cancer ward during my dad’s treatment last year. Lucked out and didn’t get sick during the procedures for which he had to be sedated.

My mom mentioned another patient who looked very frail, caught a cough, then suddenly wasn’t there anymore.

I know that I sound like a broken record but I think once this society was ok with accepting mass covid deaths just to be able to eat at Applebees then all bets were off.

Franzi Schimmer captured this Grizzly bear in Brooks Falls, Alaska just floating along, tippy-tapping down the river, browsing the salmon.

Prior to hibernation, up to 40% of a bear's body mass is fat, which is less dense than water (~0.9 g/cm^2), so the murder-monster is also a floaty-boaty.

Moderna says FDA refuses its application for new mRNA flu vaccine The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is refusing to consider Moderna’s application for a new flu vaccine made with mRNA technology.

It is absolutely outrageous that Moderna’s flu vaccine was met with a β€œrefusal-to-file” even after their approved their protocol with FDA and carried out the trial as agreed. This vaccine works better in older adults than the current flu vaccines.

These numbers speak for themselves.

Over a three-year span, a surgical device (without AI) was reported to the FDA seven times for malfunctioning and once for causing injury (unconfirmed).

Since AI was added in 2021 there have been at least 100 reports of malfunctions and adverse patient events.

And regardless, you’re missing my point. Masks, respirators, hand washing, quarantining… all are different disease control tools we as a modern society can choose to use in various situations based on different variables. None of which should be labelled as β€œextreme” by an informed media.

Is it β€œextreme” to wash your hands after going to the bathroom? Is the surgeon donning a mask before cutting you open β€œextreme”? These athletes are just using basic tools and practices a bailable to them in a modern society. You should try it. Not getting sick all the time is awesome.
