hey I was watching Turning Red, anyone notice this? Kind of a weird touch

Fan artwork of Super Mario running across what's meant to be a stage play with a smile on his face. Mario is a short, plump Italian plumber donning a red cap and shirt, blue carpenter overalls with yellow buttons, white gloves, and brown shoes. He has bright, blue eyes, sharp, black eyebrows, a black mustache, and brown hair. The background is a recreation of an overworld stage from "Super Mario Bros. 3", with several colored platforms all around the area alongside beady-eyed green bushes. This is meant to be an allusion to the fact that in-universe, it is a stage play. This is further sold by the spotlight shining upon Mario. The overall piece is meant to be a celebration of Mario in lieu of March 10th, or Mar10 Day.

I am an Elemental and Elio truther but lets get this very clear in saying that I genuinely think the studio had not made a movie with this much artistic freedom since like, MAYBE Hoppers recently LOL, Elemental did feel fairly personal though I will give it that

if you existed on the internet when this came out, you'd be convinced this is worst of the studio material and a complete discretion of the studio's legacy when in actuality this was probably the most confident the studio had been in its abilities in so long LOL, incredibly funny and super inspired.

He kinda just looks like every other frog character ever made, Lumpy The Toad could kick his ass if that was possible to show on screen

First draft of this script was a Mario & Rosalina duo adventure but then they saw how many kids got slightly mad over Luigi not actually being in the first one that much and the script writers put Luigi and Rosalina in a shoot out match to see who would get more screen time
