Mayhaps you're right about it... Dhat in dhe future it can become dhe most important dhing for us to know.

Ninkoul smacks his face laughing genuinely while Kellie is shaking the artifact in her hand. Ninkoul: Madwoman. You really pulled it off, and you didn't have to! Kellie: Even if not, I wanted to. By then I knew how much it mattered to you, so... I suppose focusing on that helped a lot in not getting petrified there... So, what will it be, Ninkoul? Ninkoul: Very well. Let me see it. Kellie passes the artifact to her friend. It seems to be a strange ring artifact with a gem in the center, looking almost like an eye shinning in the moonlight.

Ninkoul: Now dhat's fascinating... Kellie: Yeah... especially with how light seems to reflect off it. I wonder what it's for. Ninkoul: ... You know... Dhis looks a lot like an engravement I saw back in dhe Maze. Kellie: Really? Where? Ninkoul: Remembered I mentioned a switched before we jumped drough dhe veil? It had a cavity about dhe same shape as dhis. I dhink dhis artifact fits in dhere. The two start walking out of the field. Kellie: Then when things get calmer there, we should investigate. It could tell us about that knight's oath. Ninkoul: Mmmh... I'll dhink about it. It still might be a mere wild goose chase for us. Kellie: Maybe... Or maybe, based off our experience in the past couple of years, it can become far more important than we give it credit.

Kellie gently places her hand on Ninkoul's arm. Kellie: ... Ey. I agree what you did was irrational, even for you. However, it's easy to see you just wanted to find the truth, as soon as possible too. And because it holds a personal meaning to you, you're not used to handling that the same way you do with other people's problems. You are more prone to acting upon someone else's sake than act for something that matters to you specifically. It only makes sense you'd have trouble navigating listening to your own self for a change. You only stated doing that a little bit recently, after all. Ninkoul seems slightly surprised at the words, his face remains gentle... until he exhales with his usual neutral expression. Ninkoul: ... I blame you and your friends for dhis mindset's instillment. Kellie: (smiles at the response) Hehe... They're a contagious bunch, aren't they?

Ninkoul starts taking his first steps forward, exhaling one more time. Ninkoul: Huu... In eidher case, I dhink dhat's enough of dhis secret alchemy society for me... Kellie: Whueh? You don't want to finish this pursuit? Ninkoul: Dhat pursuit already cost a friend's life before and nearly ours as well. I'm not risking any more for a potential dead end. Kellie smirks at that smuggly, all while placing her hand into her pouch to shuffle through. Kellie: Hu... I suppose that would be a wise choice... Soooo I take it you don't want to know what was inside the statue then? Ninkoul: (Stops in his tracks.) Wait, what? Kellie: What? If you are done with this mystery, then I suppose you wouldn't want to see... THIS? She pulls out an artifact out of her pouch, startling the witts out of the knight. Ninkoul: YOU LITTLE--!! Yet, it dawns on him fast what happened, giving him a smile for a change.

The portal area in Memory Valley. The magic of teleportation stone warps into it as both Kellie and Ninkoul pop out of it, panting heavily now that it's over. Ninkoul: Dhat... huff.. was dhe biggest teleportation leap... huff... huff.. we've done by far...

Kellie: Considering how much magic... huff... it took out of both... huff... of us, iand it was an interdimensional jump... huff... I say that's as far as we can make ourselves go too. Imagine how much more it would have taken out of us if others came along! Ninkoul: ... Yeah Ninkoul sighs, mostly keeping his eye contact averted. Ninkoul: Sigh... Trudh be told, we really should have called odhers for some help. Kellie: Really? But you tend to not let people into your personal affairs, like how this one was. Ninkoul: I'm serious, Kellie. All dhat happened dhere was widh more close calls dhan we can afford ourselves. And widh Gleizuret around, dhat's an utterly fatal mistake to make! And dhis didn't have to be like dhat had I not rushed us head first due to my personal connection to it. I let my emotions get dhe best of me. Ninkoul: (addresses Kellie mid flight) Forget dhe artifact, we're leaving! Kellie: But Nink- Ninkoul: Take out dhe teleportation stone, NOW! Gleizuret doesn't rely on just tendrils to reach them, in fact it's charging a big attack. Kellie pulls out the stone with a unique symbol, and it's now getting its magic charged.

Ninkoul lands the two of them on top of the statue while they're waiting. However, the charge of Gleizuret's strike is rapidly growing larger, distorting the surroundings. Ninkoul: Dezas, it's going to shoot! The lakuza clasps the magic stone on top of Kellie. The stone gets charged at break neck speed, ready for use. Ninkoul: Mendinio! The stone begins to warp them in a magic dark mist. As the beam gets shot out, the statue's head gets completely shattered.

Seeing that Ninkoul is clearing out her path, Kellie summons her wings to fly out of her falling trap. Much to the dismay, Gleizuret doesn't hesitate and thusts one of its tendrils which pierces her wings. The strike disperses them, stunning Kellie in the process.

Ninkoul catches sight of where the tendril hit and doesn't waste a second to swing himself all the way down, using his wings to increase his speed and get undernearth Kellie to catch her.

The trembles make the illuminating orb crack at its foundation and shake, until it finally gives out and falls ontop the bridge, crushing it in the process

Gleizuret continues asserting itself within the hall. Ninkoul, who flew into the air to avoid the orb crushing him. A quick scan reveals to him the conflict before Kellie, who's left on the bridge debris falling into the pit, and the destination at the statue. Despite his frustration, his decision to slice through the flying creatures is swift.

Another crushing thud from Gleizuret shakes the temple, making the ceiling crumble little by little. A large boulder falls yet again, landing right on Kellie's grappling hook and breaking its magnet. Kellie tries to slow down the fall, still hitting the floor with a hard thud. She tries to snap out of the stun.

Spotting beasts surrounding her, she extends her hand and engulfs it in magic. The chakram shakes in its place, and shortly after flies towards her. It passes by Ninkoul, slicing right through the creature he's dealing with in the moment. Kellie kicks one that tries to pounce on her and reaches out to grab her trusted weapon.

Kellie shudders in horror, only to just barely react to the falling boulders in front of her. Her gaze falls on Ninkoul, who's continued fighting the beasts for now.

A brief pause from Kellie. Then she deeply inhales. Attaching the hook to the rib of the statue, she hops down and lowers herself to the level of the opened cavity. The ground is shaking from Gleizuret's presence and stomping...

Gleizuret is coming in. Kellie is frightened, losing focus and thus having her wings disperse. Kellie: Niiiiiiiiiiink, we have a problem! Ninkoul takes a brief reprieve to see what's happening.

The grappling hook magnetizes to the statue, yanking Kellie off the ground. Her feet land on the stone, and she begins to run on top to ease the movement upwards. Yet, one of the summoned creatures sweeps in flying, grabbing her hook's wire and dragging her along in the air.

As the wire is getting pulled in, the summon prepares for the slash. Kellie takes out her chakram to retaliate to its strike, finishing it up with slicing through its misty tail as soon as she comes to its level. They are left in a freefall.

The duo watches the appeared creatures slowly surrounding them. Kellie: Are these some form of summons? Ninkoul: Nodhing makes me dhink odherwise. Except dhey're summoned by dhis temple. I'll stall dhem, you make your way up dhere and find out what's in dhat opening? Kellie: On it. One of the summons finally leaps towards Ninkoul, aiming to pounce on top of him.

Ninkoul waits with summoned magic until last second to slash through the misted creature, triggering the fight with the pack. In the meantime, Kellie turns her attention to the statue and shoots out her grappling hook towards its top.

The duo is staring towards the opened mechanism. Kellie: Why would they place it so high up? Ninkoul: I'm as puzzled as you are. Perhaps, it was dhat valuable for dhem? Kellie: (she looks uncomfortable after a second.) I'm... getting a strong sense of deja-vu. Do you remember that story of how one of the ruins shifted and moved as soon as it was disturbed? Ninkoul: Yes. And it's fair to assume dhe same would happen here. CREEEAAAK An echo of strange creaking fills the hall. Walls above the statues reveal hatches, which open to release clouds of missed out.

The mist clouds surround the statues and enter inside them. After all of it disappears, the statues' eyes flash up, and misty versions of themselves crawl out of the stone to descend on the duo. Ninkoul: Except we may be seen as raiders by dhis place!

Mist breaks out from underneath the statue, forcing Kellie to hop away backwards to avoid any danger. Ninkoul instantly reacts by summoning his armblades. The black feline hovers her hand over her chakram in the meantime.

The two stand prepared, waiting for surprises. What they discover first upon the mist's dissolve is the absence of the cavity which the totem was put into. Then, clunking noises come out from the statue, and the heart shaped cavity on its chest opens up.

Kellie scans the statues carefully, until she finds an opening at its very bottom. Kellie: If the oath belongs here, then it must go into the cavity in the platform. Ninkoul: In dhat case... Let's not keep it waiting, shall we? Ninkoul passes the totem to Kellie.

Slowly, Kellie approaches the platform while Ninkoul is cautiously looking behind them. Once the totem is neatly placed inside the cavity, a pause occurs... until clunking noises begin to echo through the hallway. Clunk... clunk... clunk... clunk... CLICK

From what we can make out from this pose and equipment... I'll take a wild guess and assume that he could be a knight. Ninkoul: ... I think you're onto somedhing. Ninkoul summons the oath totem out of his magic to have it out with them. Ninkoul: Dhis totem led us all dhe way here. Royal knight is dhe highest rank for a soldier in Gilarius, an oadh totem, dhis statue... Kellie: It all all comes together into one big picture. Ninkoul: Precisely. Dhat entity must be a knight! And if dhat were dhe case... What would be his oadh?

The scene briefly shifts back to the hallway where the invisible portal is at. The portal begins rippling and sizzling, letting through vantablack tendrils and mist coming out of them, which brings withering to the plants around. Gleiruret's head finally follows suite....

Kellie looks around and at the knight as she ponders on what was told to her. She eventually places her hand on his arm, getting his attention. Kellie: I'm sorry about your friend... I can't imagine what it was like to learn about rhis fate befalling him. And... We'll do our best to make sure this doesn't repeat. Ninkoul nods quietly. Ninkoul: ... Come, we should solve dhe mystery of dhis den. It's dhe least we can do now. Kellie: For sure.

The two resume their walk down the hallway. The orbs and patterns illuminate more and more, until revealing a unique discovery at the end - a large statue of an armored individual. Kellie: I think we've found who that "cult" worshipped.

Ninkoul: Do you see how it doesn't sit right? It's like somedhing's in plain sight, yet unseen due to some trick. Maybe me being a lakuzas makes me see dhrough dhings like dhat, but... If someone else can see it, dhen it can't be overlooked. Flashbacks to what happened in the past, including Ninkoul discovering more information with a wolverine acquaintance. Though it seems something happened, as when he was doing his research, he had an unexpected visit... Ninkoul: Dhe problem was... Whoever was investigating dhese leads even before me... met dhe fate of disappearing widhout a trace. Crash of things falling over. In the end, all that was left of the wolverine are burnt papers and a destroyed room.

Kellie is looking at her friend in horror, realizing the implications. Ninkoul: I happened to have had a friend, who was helping me widh dhis research, going missing like dhat. And dhat pushed me to keep digging. Sadly, by dhe time I gained a new lead, I got dispatched to return to my clan... And dhe rest is history - dhe tragedy befell Gilarius, dhe slaughter of dhe lakuzas except for just a couple of us, dhe eternal slumber spell... Never found out what happened to dhat friend of mine eidher. Perhaps, dhat "cult" assassinated him for joining dhis quest, maybe it was worse. Even widh all of dhem gone now, I don't know what else I can expect upon finding dhe core of dhis mystery. Kellie doesn't rush to speak up. In fact, she ponders on it quietly, processing what she has learnt.
