Unfortunately, the position of the closed captioning here completely obscures the gun that Ilsa is pointing at Rick. Oh, well.
Forget it, Jake. It’s Chinatown
Three panels from Casablanca (1942). Top panel: Ingrid Bergman as Ilsa angrily stares ahead. She is holding a gun (though the closed captions are printed on top of it, so the gun is not actually visible in the shot). The shadows from an off screen window fall across her and the wall behind her, resembling bars of a cage. Captioned “I tried everything. Now I want those letters.” Mid panel: Humphrey Bogart as Rick with his lips parted just barely in momentary surprise at having a gun pointed at him. Before he can speak, Ilsa speaks off screen. Captioned “'Get them for me.'” Bottom panel: Rick’s momentary surprise passes, he closes his lips and puts on a serious but unreadable expression. He speaks. Captioned “I don't have to. I got them right here.”
Rick’s lie to Ilsa in Casablanca is the ultimate gamble.
-Either she doesn’t shoot him, thus renewing his hope that she loves him more than Laszlo or her cause.
-Or she shoots him, the location of the hidden letters dies with him, and Ilsa will hate him forever for this final, petty ‘fuck you’.
Justice is best served cold.
Because if it were served warm, it would be justwater.
More than anything else, the lack of buffer between pretentious film nerds and moms wanting to rent Sweet Home Alabama was the real reason video stores went out of business.
Three panel meme with yellow text in each panel. Top panel: Jeff looks incredulous in a black shirt. “Somebody tell Britta what a VPN is. Mid panel: Britta looks annoyed in a red shirt. “I know what it is!” Bottom panel: Britta looks sure of herself in a red shirt. “It’s like an IP address with another IP addresses’ hat on.”
I didn’t britta this Community meme. I am proposing that the genitive case (possessive) of “address” should be “addresses’”. So there.

Two panels from The Princess Bride of a ship sailing away. Top panel: No quiero más rimas. ¡Hablo en serio! Bottom panel: ¿Alguien quiere un refrigerio?
A little extra effort by someone on the Spanish subtitles for the Princess Bride, maintaining the rhyme scheme joke while staying honest to the spirit of the lines.
The original English lines are:
Vizzini- No more rhymes now, I mean it.
Fezzik- Anybody want a peanut?
Stressed-out quarantine-era David Tennant: “It's not a skill set. It's a compulsion.”
Three panels of Mandy Patinkin as Inigo Montoya in The Princess bride. White text in each panel reads: Top: “My name is Miles Morales.” Mid: “I was bitten by a radioactive spider.” Bottom: “I'm pretty sure you know the rest.”
I think about Inigo Montoya in The Princess Bride anytime I watch either of the Miles Morales Spiderverse movies.
In the foreground, a young adult Anakin Skywalker still with his padawan braid and tattered cloths has his back to us. He has his blue lightsaber drawn and looks up at Asajj Ventress claiming the high ground with two red lightsabers, one in each hand.
In Genndy Tartakovsky’s Star Wars: Close Wars Microseries (2003), the climax of the epic battle between Anakin Skywalker and Asajj Ventress begins with Ventress claiming the high ground over Skywalker. And then the rain starts.
There are those who say that an artist must grow or evolve or whatever. Anyways, Peaches recently put out a new album.
Iroh from Avatar: The Last Airbender with wide eyes and a frightened expression on his face. His hair and beard are sticking out. It is raining hard on him and smoke is coming off his body.
Uncle Iroh from Avatar: The Last Airbender, the first time he bent lightning in The Storm.
Gonna angle to give thanksgiving grace this year and spout this off.
And you promise it won’t be weaponized this time?
Improv comedians have socialized us to yes-and everything, so shutting down villainy feels like being a poor scene partner.

I sure wish statistics existed for how often Powers Boothe and Stacy Keach were up for the same roles.
Kira: I don't need the truth Garak. I just need a satisfactory explanation.

Two panels. Left panel: B'Elanna Torres in a yellow and black starfleet engineering uniform with various sci-fi tools in her chest pocket like a pocket protector. She is standing, looking slightly downward, mouth is open mid-speech, and her facial expression appears dismissive. Captioned “A CAM-A-RO” Right panel: Tom Paris in a light blue and dark blue striped mechanics jumpsuit in old-earth style. He is seated but slightly slumped forward, looking to his side and slightly upward, mouth open mid-speech, and his facial expression appears annoyed. Captioned “A CA-MARE-OH”
B'Elanna Torres: A CAM-A-RO.
Tom Paris: CA-MARE-OH.
- Star Trek Voyager
Three panels fromYellowjackets. Top Panel: Juliette Lewis asks “we’re all like this, aren’t we?” Mid panel: Christina Ricci looks sternly ahead at Lewis with a blank smile. Bottom panel: Ricci tilts her head to the side like a puppy that has seen something it doesn’t understand.
“We’re all like this, aren’t we?”
**blank smile**
**tilts head to the side like a confused puppy**

Alanna Smith when the prize money hits her account. #Unrivaled
When Hayes took off her jersey before Stewie even took the shot…
Without her, Mist been running versions of the same high-pass-from-one-big-to-another-big play all game
Makes sense. I have no follow up questions.
Ghosts don't sleep & therefore find it very interesting when human go to bed. This is fine and it is good for them to be curious about the living. Unfortunately, if they let themselves be seen, humans find them incredibly intrusive & creepy, which ruins their attempts at sleep, & angers the ghosts!
A puppy that doesn’t understand something tilts its head
when your sleep paralysis demon yells in your face, it’s a similar behavior to when a puppy tilts its head sideways at something it doesn’t understand.
Thanks for inspiring my own rewatch.
It’s a show that’s pretentious in all the best possible ways.
