Elon is lying. Not only does the Social Security Administration use SQL, the agency has an entire IT division dedicated to database operations. The SSA's entire Master Files index runs directly on DB2.
β‘οΈ The historic moment of Estonia leaving the Russian-fed power grid.
On February 8, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia left Russia and Belarus energy system. By the end of the day today, they will have joined the European grid.
Selfishly I'll miss seeing your new uploads but all the best with your future endeavours. But thinking positively, this gives me a great opportunity to catch up on your extensive back catalogue!
Small origami turtle folded from one sheet of square paper with a patterned red blue and yellow shell, and white head and legs, sitting on a beige cable knit hat
So Iβve been obsessively doing origami for the last couple of weeks or so. I kind of hate origami but I also love it? Hereβs a thread of things Iβve made:

@b0rk.jvns.ca are you aware of any good tooling for managing brag docs? (for the uninitiated: jvns.ca/blog/brag-do...)
If you're thinking of setting up your own WireGuard server, save yourself the faff and use @fuolpit.bsky.social's script: github.com/angristan/wi.... I wasted hours on Sunday trying to get things working, this evening it took me 5 minutes including public IPv6 without NAT. Nice.
Or... we could stop making excuses and make the station accessible. Sure, it's not easy, but it's very worthwhile. Perhaps they could fund bonuses or similar using over site development instead?
@gergely.pragmaticengineer.com not sure if you've thought about Substack in this way?
When will you be stocking the monitor?
Thank you for compiling this -- is there a way to check with Northampton if a particular station from this list has been done? I guess their social media team on X is the only way?
National Autistic Society Scotland 23h β’ 0 autistic people. However, we are not seeing the same progress for those who are trapped in hospital. Shockingly, there are 195 people with learning disabilities and autistic people living in hospitals, more than last year, and a fifth of them have been in hospital for more than 10 years. This is not acceptable. Autism is not a mental health disorder and hospitals are not homes. We want autism to be removed from mental health legislation and increased investment in local support services and appropriate safeguards in place, so autistic people can live in the community, a fundamental human right that many of us take for granted. Autism is not a mental health disorder and hospitals are not homes.

FYI for anyone else who finds typing in the Relay UK app annoying -- at least on Android you can connect a keyboard to your phone and it works much better. Still not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but...
In fairness that'll still end up as efficient as a conventional resistive heater, I think
Won't that just result in the car pumping heat from the garage to... The garage?
Feels like they should have a stock of iPads as a backup, at least for non-economy classes...
Iβm going to keep banging on about adult content tagging because Iβve got a bee in my bonnet about it currently. Iβm not satisfied with the tone deaf responses Iβm receiving about it. If youβre tired of hearing from me about it I highly suggest you block me. So where do we begin?β¦
I'd be cautious, last time I checked they didn't support IMAP so getting emails out could be difficult.
Not the right voice... At this time π But I doubt they mean that you should never re-apply!

A photograph taken on a rainy autumn night. A single decker red London bus is in the centre of the frame, parked under a charger for electric buses. The display on the front of the bus advertises that it is the number 358 to Crystal Palace. Although the bus is parked under an electric bus charger, it is an Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 diesel bus.
Failed attempt to try and ride the new ie tram bus on route 358 between Crystal Palace and Orpington (pictured at Crystal Palace). The driver practiced parking under the charger but it's clearly a diesel bus π
βIt doesnβt seem to be on anyoneβs radar that these interventions could cause harm.
There seems to be this unwillingness to listen to autistic people who say that it does.β

Urgh, people. Thanks to you and @holly-cummins.bsky.social for highlighting this problem which I (shamefully!) didn't realise existed.
There are also risks of burning through funding by deploying to the cloud and autoscaling... I suspect they chose to prefer poor performance over poor OpEx π
@kaziasaurus.bsky.social welcome to BlueSky!
Welcome back! Glad to see you appear somewhere :-)
Screen shot of "Accessibility Settings" with two main categories: "Alt text" and "Media." Under Alt text, there are two toggle options labelled "Require alt text before posting," which is switched on. βDisplay larger alt text badges" Under Media, thereβs an option labelled "Disable autoplay for videos and GIFs," which is switched on.
New to @bsky.app? Weβve got some etiquette just for you!
Turn on the little feature that reminds you to post alt text with your images. Alt text allows blind and partially sighted people to understand what's in your images using screen readers. Without alt text, it just says "image".
Ah fair β I wasn't sure if there would be IP-based limits for unauthenticated reads :-)
Presumably these are only "write" actions, and the limit for "read" actions is higher?
