I figured out what I don't like about the phrase: "Do you want to be in relationship, or do you want to be right?" And it's this: I want to be in relationships where it is the *default understanding* that conflict is not an existential threat to the relationship.

I have ambivalence about that one! I actually learned the phrase first in a translation of Hava Nagila and it was esté. But yeah, it's one of those places where ser/estar vibe differently! Also, PDFs here: www.episcopalcommonprayer.org/existing-lit... not the same, but useful!
I know, and I'm general I think that the language IS better. Far less stiff, and more idiomatic (while recognizing that what's idiomatic in one country is weird in another!). But in the few things I've prepared in Spanish, I mix and match from the two PDFs.

Lots of parishes are not switching. There are PROBLEMS with the copy editing and production. The font (esp. in the psalter) is unconscionably small, the page references (like addit'l directions on page 324) are all keyed to the old book. AND one of the Eucharist prayers just omits the Sanctus!

I think this happens a lot. Or they devolve into something we do and no longer know why. It become such a burden that what was supposed to move along a spiritual path actually becomes a stumbling block.

We had our Visitation Mass in the evening, and debated how exactly to do it, but decided that as we started before the sun went down, we were legit still Visitation.

I never knew about minor proper before coming to this parish. I love them. I spend hours with Ritual Notes and the Anglican Missal, ignoring the sexism and learning the ceremonial.
My parish does most of these additions (note we do humble access AND Lord I am not worthy). However, both priests are women. I do not understand the association of Anglo Catholicism with sexism! The the movement would have died without Victorian sisterhoods! See Susan Mumm's book.

Also, what are "LGBTQ graduate majors"? Graduate students are rarely referred to as having majors. So the just not want queer people to graduate? Do they think you can major in being queer at Harvard? Do they think that the existence of Harvard prevents plumbers from existing? #SMH
