My neighbour is a caver - he had a party one evening and everyone there knew the divers. Apparently they had to wait to I.D the kids they rescued as they were all dosed up on ketamine to stop them from panicking. They bungied empty water bottles to them to keep them neutrally bouyant.

A Matter of Taste - YouTube

....having said that - have you heard this one on MPS? Philips, Martin & Surman but with Albert Manglesdorff. Not as atmospheric but great stuff as you'd expect from a Trio project.

From what I understand just using it makes it lose money so there's that aspect worth exploring.

yeah an anti-semite if I recall. But I was digging around for references to this and couldn't find anything specific. Problem is you end up in the realm of rumourt and inuendo pretty quickly

They ought to make it rarer by reassigning Chris Mason to the mail room where he wouldn't be working beyond his competency and where he can fellate Nigel Farage in private instead of on air

Fleur Jaeggy often claimed that her typewriter, Hermes, wrote all of her books, which is of course a joke, a kind of quasi-mystical assertion. But if a contemporary writer said the same thing about his Airbook it would have an entirely different and depressing meaning.

When it happens and there are worldwide celebrations - and I'm talking across every civilised community on the globe in every culture - perhaps only then will the penny truly drop as to how much damage has been done. How much loathing there is. How much sheer disdain.

Yeah you put it better than me - that friction has simply been outsourced and/or transformed into capital for the platforms, while denying the benefits to the musicians

08.03.2026 15:52 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

That would be bizarre given the provenance of his 'music'. But I suppose that never stopped Eric Clapton...

Apparently Spotify has made listening to music 'frictionless'. I'm weirdly disproportionately angry at that description. It's so gullible and ignorant.

Seated Puppy by Izumi Sukeyuki
This endearing boxwood carving by the Meiji-period artist Izumi Sukeyuki (1838–1918) depicts a plump, seated puppy with a charmingly soulful expression. The figure is carved with exceptional detail, showcasing the artist's mastery of the medium; the puppy's fur is rendered with thousands of fine, textured lines that give the wood a soft, tactile appearance. Its large, dark eyes are inlaid, creating a lifelike gaze as it looks slightly upward.

A distinctive feature of the sculpture is the braided rope or strap that the puppy holds firmly in its mouth, which loops over its back and appears to be attached to a large, heavy sack resting against its side. The warm, dark patina of the boxwood highlights the smooth contours of the puppy's body and the intricate knots of the rope. This work is a wonderful example of netsuke or small-scale Japanese sculpture, capturing a moment of quiet, playful determination with both technical precision and deep character.

It does tap into the trope of 'untrained genius does things others didn't think of because training does not produce free thinkers' which you see a lot coming out of entrepreneur culture
