This feels like it should go back to community consultation then. The situation has changed and the previous consultations had the walking ramp project mitigated by this project

Whats the current status of the traffic mitigation and bike lane project for Walkley?
With the province's rule against bike lanes I assume that project will be having problems. We should not implement this off ramp without that connected project.
A lot of our city built cycling infrastructure is also done during road reconstructions adding cycle tracks that would cost a fortune to remove luckily
One of the business decisions of all time... π₯²
@gander22h.bsky.social Conefest at Preston and Gladstone!
This one is a real party π₯³
Every winter I ask myself why do I live here, I could live somewhere snow free and decent temps all year.
Then I go skiing
Oop I was wrong, 6-7 weeks closure of Woodroffe, 7-8 for Maitland. I forgot they have to build the build the abutments
They typically stagger them and do rapid replacements over a weekend plus one weekday
Imagine adding onto the cost of every apartment tower going up in the core millions of dollars in DCs to pay for new suburban roads, and then also admitting that those same roads have zero benefit to anybody else in the city except for those suburban growth areas.
When are they going to fix this?
Yep, especially since the asphalt is unsupported so it's gonna slowly decay
Always thought it was silly that they didn't build sidewalk along that stretch, yes there's the path in the trees but it's clearly not the same!
Seeing as how the head the Glebe BIA had an aneurism when it was suggested that parking may not be as important as effective transit, I can only assume some business oriented councilor is slow-walking this. Given the state of our transit, we need every easy project we can get to speed buses up.
We are very frustrated that this is continually being delayed over and over again. People who want to sign up to delegate have to set aside time to be able to do so, constantly pushing things back makes things harder for the people trying to make their communities better.
Only 6 more years until it matches Carling bus lanes 10 years behind schedule! (That relies on them actually doing that project for bank to catch up π)
Oh how desperately I want us to get sidewalk versions of those brush plows. So much snirt that would be nice to brush away
That would be Bay and Albert
My long term dream is the parking lots under the hydro corridor get replaced with a linear park stretching from Scott to Richmond through the superstore lot as that redevelops and connecting with the existing linear parkish land.
Maybe a little early for this suggestion, but string lighting across Armstrong St between this development and the market would be great!
Plus I am very supportive of their suggestion to close Armstrong at Parkdale to limit traffic on this block.
Looks like there is also a goal of connecting it up to the new park going in on McRae
I am in total agreement with pedestrianizing the Byward, lets just be careful not to gate keep events away, this was a great event with a ton of turn out. Hope this or similar cool events can become a regular thing for Winterlude.
Funnily, if he had posted a current picture it would be an awesome shot of the car parking temporarily closed to make way for a sick snow mobile ramp and crash pad.
It is well past time to restore the mall section of Rideau back to being a bus only road like it was during the LRT.
That section accounts for so much delay to our busses
An oft-repeated statistic says men apply for a job when they have 60% of the qualifications while women wait till they have 100%. Pretty sure that stat was debunked, but β¦
Several men seem to think that being Mayor is a suitable starter job for someone with no municipal experience. Itβs not.
Lawsuit against the manufacturer is on going for a few years now and will unfortunately last a few years longer
I'll pass on a hold-the-date. Thanks @railfans.ca and @bettertransitottawa.ca for talking transit data with me on February 2.
Notez bien cette date. Merci Γ @railfans.ca et @bettertransitottawa.ca pour nos Γ©changes sur les donnΓ©es de transport en commun le 2 fΓ©vrier.
It's time to look into getting new vehicles for the line, Alstom is not going to make these work.
Four years since bearing failures derailed LRT trains. Four years, and we still don't know the root cause. Single-car trains during rush hour. Crowded platforms. No timeline for a fix. This hits everyone.
As the Mayor boasts, he's kept our tax increases lower than any major city in Canada. Okay. So, how's our transit ridership doing? How are your roads looking? Pools staying open long enough for you? The City of Ottawa "garbage can" in my neighborhood is a discarded oil barrel from Turkey. 8/
At this point, I think the City needs to seriously consider a) halting procurement of the Spirits b) procuring different rolling stock c) terminating any agreements with Alstom. This is absurd.
Really good timing with another train issue grinding our system down once again happening right after he posted this
