Freedom of the Press is a fundamental part of Democracy for a reason. This story is a major part of the reason Kristi Noem was canned.

Here's what the evidence shows: The school strike — On February 28, 2026, the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls' elementary school in Minab, southern Iran was destroyed during the first day of the U.S.-Israeli strikes. Iranian state media reported 180 people killed, the majority of them schoolchildren — mostly girls between 7 and 12 years old. Wikipedia What NPR's satellite analysis found — The school appears to have been struck as part of a precision airstrike on a neighboring Iranian military complex, and it may have been hit as a result of outdated targeting information. Experts noted the school had been separated from the adjacent military base by a wall built between 2013 and 2016. NPR In other words, the targeting data may not have been updated in over a decade. The AI targeting context — Maven, powered by Claude, suggested hundreds of targets, issued precise location coordinates, and prioritized those targets. Experts noted that "AI gets it wrong… we need humans to check the output of generative AI when the stakes are life and death." DNYUZ What "precision" actually means — precision refers to the accuracy of the weapon hitting its designated target. Satellite imagery confirmed "very precise targeting" — almost all buildings in the compound were hit. NPR The weapons hit exactly what they were aimed at. The horrifying question is whether what they were aimed at was correctly identified — and evidence suggests it wasn't. UNESCO called the bombing of the school "a grave violation of humanitarian law." UN News The UN human rights office has called for a full investigation into whether it constitutes a war crime. So: technically precise delivery, apparently wrong target. That distinction offers no comfort to the families burying their daughters.

All I can think about is Jeff Bezos saying that he slashed jobs at the Washington Post — including those of foreign correspondents in the Middle East — based on "the data," and a few weeks later a whole war breaks out in the Middle East that these laid off folks would have covered as true experts.

This is the worst case scenario occurring at almost all turns.

- Tased and struck over misunderstanding
- Stays in jail for a year because of slow wheel of justice and ICE fears
- PD screws up in releasing him
- Border Patrol release catastrophically screwed up
- PD blows off missing persons report

I’m not watching, but this is the point where Dems should have rightly stood up and left the chamber en masse.

There are 3,800 kids in ICE custody.

And this stat doesn’t even include the outside spending.

What we found is bleak. Attorneys told us they’re struggling to get information in to or out of ICE and Customs and Border Protection facilities, which are holding nearly 69,000 people this month. And detainees often are forced to choose between remaining in crowded, squalid conditions or leaving the country immediately. Judges in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles have ordered the government to facilitate attorney-client communications at Homeland Security buildings. But attorneys say that doesn’t always happen. Even if detainees get the option, some worry they’ll be punished if they take it.

Lawyers can't reach clients in ICE detention. I've heard it anecdotally, but scale of issue is horrifying.

My 7yo daughter’s best friends’ family fled the country a few weeks ago. Today she came home with a drawing of her and another friend blowing whistles at ICE agents.

“We’re blowing the whistles and so ICE will go away and our friends can come back,” she said.

I started sobbing uncontrollably.
