If Messrs Rogers and Hammerstein were alive today, our state song lyrics would go like this ...
Sit out back and wait
To see a T-38
Making lazy circles in the sky

Okies have a chance to do something really hilarious in the special election. But won't.
Someone will put a rumor on fakebook that Soros is buying the election for Talarico and our dumb asses will double down on the worst GOP candidate.
Oh look, Ryan Walters.
Go Pokes!
Spent many a freezing February and March afternoon at Allie P., watching a couple knuckle heads named Pete and Robin knock the horsehide. Was partially responsible for the infamous Bedlam Brawl in 1989.
You will always have Sidney's Golden Goal in 2010, which was an incredible win for Team Canada and a heartbreaking loss for Team USA. Yet, it is the stuff of legend.
Someday, we'll get back to celebrating our wins and losses without feeling like it's an international incident.
The cat, a seal point Siamese, is the guide. When it speaks, it does so in iambic pentameter due to a curse. Every stanza it utters contains 1 truth and one falsehood that leads to mayhem. They never go hungry because the truths involve food.
... To be continued. If I can't sleep.
What would The Incredible Journey be if @guygavrielkay.bsky.social wrote the book in 2026?
I feel like I'm starting a D&D campaign and creating character sheets...
I'm sitting in the "recliner" in an ICU room for the night, listening to the beeps and dings of medical devices, ignored by the staff.
It's dark, my wife sleeps in a fitful, but opiated haze. Neither Clonazepam nor Crown Royal will let me sleep.
My mind wanders...
I really wish this game would be over so I could go back to my #Python project.
Also, #fuckice
Road Trip!
A Saturday morning drive to a nearby museum that did not disappoint.

It's a thought. ESC gets pretty good use as I use vi (not vim). I could replace ScrLk as I don't use it much these days after taking the KVM switch out of my desk setup.
(Using Remote Desktop Manager these days)
Spending time this week playing with projects in Rust. I appreciate the familiarity of the tools to my roots (C++, Java). A growing ecosystem of libraries to do useful stuff.
Definitely appreciate how its package system doesn't download gigabytes just to do something simple (unlike, ahem... node).
First world problem:
The Q key is going out in my mechanical keyboard. I have spare switches, but they are Cherry MX Reds and not Browns. Having 1 key that's less clicky will drive me slowly insane.
We are going for a ride on Saturday. Not far. An hour, at most, in each direction. But, it's February, and February North of the Tropics is not normally "roadster weather".
These are not normal times. We'll have a jacket and perhaps a wool blanket for a passenger. Also, seat heaters. And a flask.
Have you tried kittens? I find that kittens help.
Long drives in a convertible with CCR blasting out the speakers also works wonders. Helps if the convertible makes it back home.
Failing that, reciting the Mahamrityunjaya Mantra a few hundred times allows you to forget what was troubling you.
Kinda like how Dianetics and Battlefield Earth were NYT bestsellers back in the day.
Scientology sure must be popular if all those people are reading those books...

Got over freezing for the first time in 12 days but the wind was sharp. Supposed to be 70 on Saturday and the local LBC bunch have a drive planned. Great chance to try out my new seat heaters.
My pickup will get washed this week, but we don't have the salt issue that y'all do.
Can we get Donny a preview copy of Civ 8 and let him wreck the Dev environment instead of Production?
I have the next volume at hand. Ready for the following winter storm.
I'm not sure how it ends, but I do like this Simon de Montfort fellow. He is getting things done.
Slogging through a book written when my parents were teens. The subject (Henry III) is as interesting as toe fungus. The words bringing Rex Anglais to life do so using a style seemingly lost among the detritus of the statistical models driving modern prose.
I love it and I can't say exactly why.
May it follow him into the afterlife, where he can complain about the unfairness of it all to Robert Bork and Thomas Bowdler.
When my kids are my age, I hope they have a Dolly Parton in their lives. Whatever their name is, I hope they're as awesome as she has been in mine.
I'd trade every OC, DC, Dak, and one of Jerry's sons for Caleb and a pound of Rudy's fatty brisket.
Fucking cowards, the lot of them.
Until they do their job, I guess we have the 2nd.
I checked my phone and I didn't get any calls from the True North. My disappointment is palpable.
I'm a fan of Bruce's Pete Seeger sessions. In particular, the reworking of the old spiritual "O Mary Don't You Weep". The hook goes "The Pharaoh's army got drowned, O Mary don't you weep".
Interpret the pharaoh and his army as you wish.

I believe you mean, just 38 days until pitchers and catchers report to spring training.
Read a #BBC article this evening referring to Andrew Mountbatten as the "former prince".
That had to feel good.
Like "#disgraced #former #president" will. Sooner the better.
And I ain't talking about Nixon, Jackson, or Cheney.
Cheese and pork are wrapped up and resting til manaΓ±a. Brisket in foil and the Traeger @225F (105C) for 13 hours. Cleaned the kitchen, started the dishwasher.
I smell like a campfire in all the good ways, but I need a shower. Won't sleep with visions of smoked meats dancing 'round my head.
NGL, you lost me at docker. Being from the People's Republic of Proxmox. π
Is Flash still doing compiler perfmon consulting? Might have some insight. I've been out of the game too long to be much help. Too many layers of emulation and cross compiling.
Go back to native, on device builds, even if performance lags while you wait for SIGTRAP?
