Disappointing that I can’t find Inappropriate Gavels on Bluesky
Disappointing that I can’t find Inappropriate Gavels on Bluesky
I’m sorry but I have to unfollow you. There is only so much news about how awful Tr*mp is that is bearable to see
And that’s why it’s inadequate. I don’t want to live in an EU country nor marry an EU citizen, but I resent that right was taken from me and millions of others
Now I remember I had Shostakovich 5 & 10 conducted by Järvi snr on the Woolies label
Or when Boots even had its own classical label. Not my pic but someone wants 9.99 for it on eBay. I hope the music is still available elsewhere as it’s the wonderful Kathryn Stott playing

Why aren’t you posting here? Many of us have quit Twitter/X - and you should too- you’re denying us useful news like the A672 road closure
WH Smith has been awful for years. It’s a distressing experience if you’re forced to walk through one to buy a stamp. It’s a pity they continue to take up space at railway stations and airports
Makes sense, thank you.
Article has now been corrected to half a billion. I’m sure I wasn’t the only person to notice it.
Interesting article. Is there a typo? “Plus there is Levy’s own private financial miracle, the half a million or so he stands to make when this entity…is sold” 500K seems too little, but can’t be half a billion, or is it?
True, kind, necessary. I’m sure this fails in all three categories
Happy to find you on here after I quit twxtter
Don’t they already? Quite usual to not get letters for days then several at once
This seems a really stupid idea. There must be people who don’t know Stockport at all. And the train companies need to run better services rather than wasting money on stunts
I’m being cynical, but I assumed big name actors regularly made choices based on artistic fulfilment rather than simply money. A Netflix show effectively subsidising their theatre run. And without real figures, it’s meaningless.
I had already forgotten about him. Why did you have to remind me?
Years ago Radio 3 broadcast Rhode Island is Famous for You by Dietz & Schwartz. I loved it. Had to go to the library and read big books on the history of Broadway to find out more. Subsequently bought a CD with the version by Blossom Dearie which remains my favourite
I’ll be there as well, and I still haven’t recovered from Mahler 2 in Manchester last night. And I’ve got Holst’s Planets in Bradford tomorrow
I only have a mild condition but I find Dovonex (calcipotriol) ointment really helpful
But there’s a reference to arse in Connections. This is not consistent.
The Poillini is, I think, one of the greatest discs ever. Petrushka is astounding. The Prokofiev sonata is frightening, disturbing but also beautiful - choice of repertoire was brave but utterly convincing
Such a great film
Had to check that Petula (thankfully) is still with us and Downtown is still great
I prefer something much more modern like Harrison Erniewistle
Thanks for the recommendations. I need to listen to the Sibelius again. I think it might grow on me - some very good orchestral sound. I enjoyed the wooden prince - though I’ve always preferred the miraculous mandarin
Yes. But it’s almost 5 years since Northern was nationalised and its services are still woeful. And it’s never recruited enough staff or even contracted enough of them to work Sundays www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
This is a good list
Seems like a great idea, but I’ve been waiting for electrification of the Calder Valley line for over 45 years since I moved to West Yorkshire. And Northern Rail can’t even run and staff all its current trains
