We have a family at our community center whose kids are a part of a queer GSA troop and they’re amazing. GSA also has a letterboxing badge/goal which I think is super cool, and I’d love to help them earn it

This is how they got so many of my peers in high school. I went to a predominantly Hispanic school in a low-income neighborhood and when the recruiters showed up that was their ENTIRE pitch. Education. A way to leave their shitty life. They didn’t even bother with the medical high school students.
