Elon Musk Wants a Do-Over on Twitter Trial After Jury Pool Couldn't Hide Its Disdain Elon Musk’s legal team filed a motion for a mistrial in the case, a move that often hints the defense thinks the trial isn’t going its way.

Elon Musk’s attorney argues for a mistrial in class action lawsuit because “so many people in the venire [pool of prospective jurors] who hate him [Musk] so much.”

Visualization of the magnitude and composition of prevalence ratios for GAD, MDE, and suicidality between 2012 and 2022 at different levels of cannabis frequency. Prevalence ratios (PRs) indicating higher prevalence are above 1; as such, all PRs in the figure start at 1 since all reflect a higher prevalence given cannabis use relative to no use (baseline bar). The effect of cannabis bar reflects the increase in prevalence attributable to cannabis frequency in 2012. The effects of year bar reflects the increase in the prevalence between survey years. The year*cannabis interaction bar reflects the increase in the prevalence attributable to cannabis in 2022 that is larger than (or ‘added’ to) effects seen in 2012.

Use of #cannabis is associated with increased risk of anxiety, depression & suicidality, per an analysis of two Canadian surveys (N=~35k) - and the association has strengthened over time.

Can a wealthy family change the course of a deadly brain disease? Inspired by the loss of their mother, they have poured millions into studying a key protein behind frontotemporal dementia. But all has not gone according to plan

Fascinating account of trying to find a cure for frontotemporal dementia (FTD): great advances in our understanding of one variant (mutations in GRN resulting in TDP43 proteinopathy) but no success yet with respect to treatment.

Vote in every election
Never miss a chance to vote. Every election - local, state, federal.
If you can vote in the US, encourage those who can.
Pro Tip: ask “what’s your plan to vote?”

Here’s her slide recommending we encourage others to vote. #medsky

The VA has not filled vacant healthcare professional positions, resulting in:

1,500 fewer physicians
4,900 fewer nurses
14,000 total fewer

This is 5% of the VA's medical staff.

Low-Dose Lithium for Mild Cognitive Impairment This pilot randomized clinical trial evaluates the feasibility, safety, and methodological considerations of low-dose lithium treatment in older adults with mild cognitive impairment.

Could low-dose lithium slow cognitive decline in people w/ mild cognitive impairment?

This pilot study did not find benefit.

But it was a small study with methodological issues and it could inform a more definitive study.
