And those of us who were seething with rage at Trump I are still with the Democrats, but we want real consequences for the regime and not just procedural neutrality or restoration of norms.

"real spending in fast-food restaurants, is not showing a pretty picture. It is virtually flat over the last year and is actually down 2.4% since September. That would suggest some real hardship. (There also has been a big rise in credit card and auto loan delinquencies.)"

Nobody is talking yet about the chemical incident at the fourth largest Air traffic control Center in America as a #terrorist attack. Is that a conversation too scary to have?
The fact that the Iranian people never had the chance to oust Khamenei, or bring him to justice themselves, has been devastating to their own sense of freedom and dignity. Fanon writes about this, why the oppressed must themselves overthrow their oppressors.

This is absolutely sick.
This DOGE boy dissolved my Fort Negley grants, taking money earmarked for descendant-led archaeology and oral history collection because he was given power that indulged the fact that he is too arrogant to see the value in the histories of Black Tennesseans and how they have shaped ALL of the US.

We're delighted to see people pay so much attention to special elections and legislative elections these days! Tracking these races is one of our favorite things to do.
It's also a lot of work! We'd be really grateful if folks citing that figure of 28 RโD flips would link back to our tracker:
NEW: For the @richmonder.bsky.social, I reviewed city payment records and service contracts to find out just how much Richmond has paid Flock, the notorious surveillance-tech company that makes the ~100 always-on cameras and AI-powered software RPD uses to track cara throughout the city and state.
Big thanks to Rachel Brittin for helping me summarize last weekend's Stand Up for Science event in Richmond.
Iโm running for Congress because the people of this district deserve better than a congressman who refuses to listen. Together, we can make life better for all people.

Itay Epshtain @ @EpshtainItay X.com Landed in Tel Aviv tonight, to find myself surrounded - as is publicly visible - by US war planes. Under the law of armed conflict, civilian airports are, by their nature, civilian objects. The starting point is the general rule of distinction reflected in Article 52(1) of Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions, which provides that civilian objects shall not be the object of attack or reprisals. Indeed, the mere fact that the object belongs to a State that is party to an armed conflict does not alter its civilian character. As with all objects in armed conflict, however, the legal characterization depends not solely on the object's nature but also on its use in the circumstances prevailing at the time.
Civilian objects become military objectives when, by their nature, location, purpose, or use, they make an effective contribution to military action and when their destruction, capture, or neutralization offers a definite military advantage. A civilian airport that is used to host, service, refuel, arm, or dispatch military aircraft may therefore lose its civilian protection, at least in respect of the parts of the installation that are being used for military purposes. In such circumstances the object may qualify as a military objective by use. The transformation is functional rather than formal: it does not require the airport to be formally designated a military airbase. What matters is whether the facilities contribute effectively to military operations, for example by enabling combat aircraft to
launch sorties or sustain military deployments in an international armed conflict. flightradar24 โขHaifa WEST BANK Jerusalemยฉ GAZA STRO โขBe'dsheva Israel Google N/A K35R United States - Air Force TLV TEL AVIV Departed 03:31 ago ยฉ lan Howat N/A NOT AVAILABLE BAROMETRIC ALT. 9,300 ft GROUND SPEED Arriving in N/A 302 kts Boeing KC-135R Stratotanker REG 62-3498

Cities in Vermont and Maine are experiencing some of the same tactics that ICE has been using across Minnesota since December, and facing lots of resistance.

This is why I take endorsements with a grain of salt.
Too many orgs have proven they 1) donโt vet candidates or 2) are OK with the red flags that indicate a candidate could turn against them
I also know people with money can sway endorsers
If youโre a Maine voter and arenโt happy with this, GOTV

Meaningful ๐งตfrom @heathermassey.com. When there is so much darkness, it helps to take whatever action you can! These trying times have taught many of us that it is energizing to engage in our democratic process. We already see results from our state elections. Letโs keep the momentum going!

Volunteer-made Campaign graphic featuring Tim Cywinski, a Virginia Democratic congressional candidate, emerging through a torn pink star on a black background. Text reads: โA New Way Forward,โ โVirginia Congressional Democratic Candidate,โ and โMeet Tim Cywinski.โ A sticker-style label says โNo Corporate PACs,โ and another banner highlights โThe Fair Shot Agenda.โ The campaign website votetimva.com appears at the bottom.
Volunteer created Campaign infographic titled โWho Is Tim?โ introducing congressional candidate Tim Cywinski. Bullet points describe him as the son of an educator, a community organizer, and a political communications strategist. A second section titled โWhat Heโs Doneโ lists accomplishments including securing more than $100 million in aid for in-state students, stopping harmful data center projects, and helping rural communities block unjust landfill proposals. A final section titled โWhy Heโs Runningโ says he wants to reform the rules of politics, restore real representation for the people, and revitalize the American Dream.
Volunteer made Campaign graphic titled โThe Fair Shot Agendaโ featuring Tim Cywinski with a speech bubble that reads: โMy Fair Shot Agenda is about restoring competition, accountability, and opportunity.โ Bullet points outline key goals: restore representation and end big money in politics, tax hard work less and corporate greed more, and build a fair economy grounded in dignity. The graphic invites viewers to join the campaign and visit votetimva.com

There are 2 reasons gestures like this mean so much.
1. These take a lot of time & effort to create โ itโs humbling to know ppl are willing to do so
2. They demonstrate that weโre not alone in trying to fight for a brighter future.
