Yes! Just like that! Little details really help sell a character. Sports players tend to have their number in multiple spots, since it becomes a part of their identity/pride as a person. Were you going to have him wear his baseball jersey as entrance gear? May be able to find the jersey font online.
You should consider putting his jersey number as a little logo on the top/back of his elbow pad in white. Kind of like where you'd imagine a Nike swoosh would go. The Blue Jays logo looks so clean. Carter's turning out great.
