Meet βTech News Worldβ, a Facebook page that recently pivoted from spamming the platform with AI-generated movie posters to spamming the platform with AI-generated videos of war in the Middle East.
Sadly, βTech News Worldβ is not the only spammy account exploiting the violence for views and clicks.

I wonder if a drone has hit Dubai Marina. Or whether it was just
debris from a successful interception.
If only loads of Dubai based accounts, including Isabel Oakeshott's, could tell me.

I get why/that people say this, but dont' underestimate this:
all other social networks are invested in making sure that posts that link to journalism remain buried, or at least never go viral.
BlueSky doesn't do that. That makes it very valuable to a ton of newsrooms righ tnow.
After considerable soul-searching, I feel compelled to withdraw from the BAFTA emerging talent judging panel. The organisation's handling of the unfortunate Tourette's N-Word incident last night at the awards was utterly unforgivable. I cannot and will not contribute my time energy and expertise to an organisation that has repeatedly failed to safeguard the dignity of its Black guests, members and the Black creative community. This is particularly unfortunate given that this year's cohort boasts some incredible Black talent, especially one of my favourite shows of 2025 "Just Act Normal". However, when an organisation like BAFTA, with its own long history of systemic racism, refuses to acknowledge the harm inflicted on both the Black and disabled communities and offer an appropriate apology, remaining involved would be tantamount to condoning its behaviour. I hope BAFTA leadership comprehend the damage they and the BBC have caused and take the necessary steps to ensure their production staff are inclusive enough to prevent such an issue in the future. Yours sincerely, Jonte Richardson

I want my kids to grow up and chase a career that makes them feel fulfilled and energised. Where they can use their creativity and passion as a force for good - if they want to. These ghouls in Silicon Valley seem desperate to take these chances away and make us all drones.
Theyβre just out there setting records at everything.
I really enjoy listening to the #Prosecutors Podcast (even though I'm a Brit) and their Legal Briefs side podcast is a great listen for understanding complicated US law.
This latest on the Luigi Mangione case explains a lot, as did their previous one about the search of his backpack

It just makes me wonder why they object to one culture but not another, or see one as "different" but not another.
These people who complain about this country being swamped by a different culture, never seem bothered about how the country has been "swamped" with American culture - such as news, food, tv, music, language. Go to other European countries and there's much less of an American obsession.

We pride ourselves on being a democracy and yet thereβs a medieval theocratic anachronism in the heart of parliament: 26 bishops with automatic seats in the House of Lords. (The only other country in the world with clerics automatically entering a government isβ¦ Iran).
