I also became an adult at a young age for a lot of sobering reasons and refuse to give up my whimsy as well, especially NOW. Disney and LEGO and Star Trek and cute, frilly skirts, fun purses and costumes. So many of us grew up too fast and deserve to give ourselves the childhood we didnβt have.
Eeeeee Happy Birthday!!
I hope that man gets stung by a thousand bees.
- are at a convention where we should be having fun.
There are men Iβve blocked and avoid like the plague and they still find me at conventions. Others whom Iβve politely distanced myself from or have limited interactions with will still linger in my orbit. Itβs even worse for younger women, and really fucking awful to have to think about when we -
Iβve also never cared about sharing my age with others. Itβs a number - and a privilege to achieve these years. However, patriarchy always loves to remind me I should never share my age, god forbid Iβm no longer βyoung enoughβ - when Iβm 20, 30, 40 - disturbing, isnβt it?
I never think about my age until some kid calls me Maβam
I feel like I donβt exist as an age or what an age should be - no matter the age Iβve been or am
Iβm 45 in a few months and everyone else is βthe adults.β
Do you just not feel the age you are until youβre 90? (if youβre privileged to live that long.)

My issue isnβt intent; itβs the fact that my brain canβt answer dishonestly with the positivity most people expect and prefer. How is *anyone* βgood!β or βgreat!β right now? And answering honestly is me saying out loud that Iβm not okay, verbal reminders of whatβs wrong, and thatβs not good for me
Begging people to stop making βHow are you?β a thing and just stop at βGood Morning.β
Amazing!!
I love and miss you!!
This was a cathartic moment
In part, the βgo hard or go homeβ mentality that didnβt allow me the rest I needed during class. Due to my various disabilities I need to be able to stop before I accidentally pass out and they didnβt seem to care.
Definitely sounds like a much better space than whatβs available down here. Try it when youβre ready!
Theyβre offering it at Orangetheory but I havenβt tried it. I heard some bad things about the regional head here in FL, and itβs too much like CrossFit IMO - and I didnβt enjoy CrossFit. Let me know if you try it! I might over the summer just to say I did it. Weβll see.
This is a project I support every year. The Hollywood Food Coalition does incredible work for the community & deserves the $$$.
Also, the #StarTrek content is wonderful every year with tons of great panels. Save the March 28 date & chip in a few bucks if you can to help. #TrekSky

So weβre βdecimatingβ a country weβre supposed to be freeing? βDecimatingβ being his exact word π€
The absolute ghoulishness when the sum total of your politics is "I want catastrophically bad things for the bad guys." Inevitably you're enthusiastically cheering for things that are immensely worse for a massive shit ton of innocent people than they ever will be for the bad guys.
There was a meme a while back depicting Mar a Lago as a recommended missile target. It made me uncomfortable then - for the very real reason that today, roads around the estate are closed due to being under threat. I work less than a mile away. Trying not to think about it too much.
