Which is why I'm worried about The Elder Scrolls 6. I just know it's not gonna look even half as good as the other "realistic graphics" games do now, so why even bother if they're not 100% certain they could actually make the new "most realistic-looking game" like they used to.

Like I'm saying it's diminishing returns. For all the extra Starfield dev time they spent on higher poly counts and resolutions and whatever, it barely looks any better than Fallout 4.

So they may as well have just not bothered, and made an actual good fucking game instead.

It's sad because they try to make "realistic graphics", but being so far behind actual realistic graphics now while they still try to keep up and use the same newer technologies to worse results, basically just means...that they could just be making games with their older graphical standards.

The issue is that Starfield looks nearly identical to Fallout 4 graphically. Meaning, the actual "graphic improvements" didn't matter and they could have made it in so much less time, or made it an actually good game in the same amount of time if they just didn't worry about graphical fidelity.

I think what makes The Elder Scrolls 6 just so pathetic (and Starfield too) is how Bethesda used to have a 2-3 year development cycle. Skyrim and Fallout 4 only took about 3 years each.
