“To the girls...dressed as 'Hannah the plumber' in their overalls, spanners, & trademark hair...To my Trans siblings who get blamed for everything...To the Muslims everywhere who are constantly & often violently scapegoated....our struggles may be different, but our humanity is the same.” Beautiful!

Why is no one angry that the war hero Alan Turing is being removed from the £ 50 note? The gay mathematician Turing won the war by cracking Nazi Germany’s Enigma code. In 1952, the homophobic Churchill Government drove Turing to suicide. Maybe complain about that. open.substack.com/pub/lewiscal...

Would replacing the famous woman novelist Jane Austen or the legendary gay computer scientist Alan Turing with pictures of wildlife also meet “the definition of woke”? Does Nigel even know who is on any banknote other than a fiver?

When textile baron Humphrey Chetham died in 1653, he left money for a parish library in Gorton, filled with “godly Englishe Bookes. . .for the edification of the common people.” Today, the godly people of Gorton are Muslims, and they vote Green. open.substack.com/pub/lewiscal...

I am a foreign national with a visa that permits employment but does not permit access to public funds, and I pay for my NHS. I would like to ask the newspapers to please stop spreading Faragist lies about us.

The Green leader did a stupid thing in 2013, & apologised.

The Labour leader does 12 stupid things before breakfast every day, & won’t apologise for any of them.

The Reform leader ONLY does stupid things, & views the concept of an apology as an affront to his manhood.

Who does the Beeb target?

Wildlife to feature on next series of Bank of England banknotes Images of the UK’s wildlife are to feature on the next series of banknotes following a public consultation run by the Bank of England.

Smashing! The British public wants wildlife on their banknotes, so why not add the leader of the party that protects wildlife? www.bankofengland.co.uk/news/2026/ma...

Us: We’re the Green Party of England and Wales! We’re the fastest growing party in the country! We’re the only party that’s against genocide and Trump's illegal war in Iran! We just won a Parliamentary seat that Labour has held since before Clement Atlee created the NHS!
BBC: Yeah but boob hypnosis.

It makes me so happy to see my party leader tell a packed-out Wembley Stadium this simple truth, which no other party leader in England has the courage to say. My transgender kids are safer because of Zack Polanski.

The best comics are about chosen families who stand up for each other no matter what, which is why the best comics are written by Kelly, Kelly, Willow, and Gail.

Zack is a political rock star and also a literal rock star.

Sir Winston Churchill is Rochdale’s implementation of a pub chain called Harvester, and while my good lady wife does enjoy eating half a fookin chicken from Sir Winston and I am fond of his sweet potato fritter rice bowl, I am not bothered about whether or not he’s on a five pound note.

Interesting that no one objects to the idea of replacing the greatest English novelist, the greatest English painter, or the greatest English computer scientist with a badger.

My take is, there is only one English party leader who is trying to stop a genocide and an illegal war that has made petrol prices skyrocket, and in that context, Britain is not bothered about a little breast hypnosis. Also, the Beeb should get a fookin job.

Wonderful to see this from Greens and Lib Dems: "While we may disagree on many political questions, we are united in the belief that the harassment of a Member of Parliament is an affront to our democracy.” Would anyone from the party of Mandelson care to comment?

Readers added context: this Guardian article mentions Labour, Conservative & Reform policy, but not Green policy, although the Parliamentary Green Party includes two engineers and a PhD in international development specialising in the political economy of resource management.

So grateful that Prime Minister Sanchez, at least, is committed to upholding international law, as well as the fundamental moral law of human civilisation.

Humphrey Chetham funded this library for Gorton. Engels researched Condition of the Working Class in England at Chetham’s Library. Engels wrote of the “deep wrath” of workers vs. the rich. In Gorton today, & throughout Britain tomorrow, wrathful workers vote Green. open.substack.com/pub/lewiscal...

Holding a view is protected. Using it to cause public harm is not. The difference between protected belief and protected behaviour is the whole point. And the social media posts make that difference very clear.

Excellent analysis. The Green Party is a private membership organisation. We have every right to expel members who speak against our core values & policies. If you spread transphobic lies in your capacity as a party official, you’re out. www.helenwebberley.com/p/sorry-ladi...

It comes as no surprise to me whatever that the most thoughtful political analysis I have read this morning is from a Kentish sex worker who just joined the Green Party.

Welcome to the fastest growing party in England and Wales, led by a man who attended his first Pride in Manchester at 16, would go back in time to Stonewall if he could, and asks only this of his legions of followers: be kind, especially to those who serve our communities.

Woman throws milkshake over Nigel Farage on first day of campaigning Police arrest 25-year-old after Reform UK leader, whose entry into election race has alarmed Tories, drenched in Clacton

Big news in The Guardian in 2024: woman arrested for throwing a milkshake at Nigel Farage. Not even mentioned in The Guardian in 2026: no arrests made after misogynists harassed Green MP Hannah Spencer in Manchester on International Women’s Day. www.theguardian.com/politics/art...

For the Use of Schollars Oldest library turns textiles into communism

Did you know that Karl Marx devised his theory of historical materialism in a library that was funded by the surplus value that Humphrey Chetham had alienated from the handloom weavers of Lancashire? Me neither!

I’m so happy to have joined a party that calls a genocide a genocide, and opposes illegal wars. There’s me and James chatting, in the upper left of the picture of the meeting hall, in front of the lad in the Green Day t-shirt.
