ah, but the mysterious Japanese pipe appears to *actually* be a regular Japanese caisson
hey let's give it up for chocolate drink. same great taste, same as always. you wonder what exactly it's made of.
It would be a better example if there was ALPR at this intersection, but despite the increasing ubiquity of ALPR in Albuquerque, there's not! That's part of why I get pedantic about this, because people have a lot of misconceptions about what's installed where.

Someone posted these photos to Reddit wondering what the cameras are. Now you know.
Having a good time with MeshCore. Today I got a simple bot running to make testing easier, if you're using MeshCore and connected to Albuquerque you should be able to get a reply by sending 'ping' on #abqbot. More features to come.
The differences between MeshCore and Meshtastic are interesting [โฆ]
short magazine pieces and listicles like to make a lot of Disney's use of "go away green." These generally ignore that...
1) green has been widely used as a neutral color for outdoor environments since before Disney adopted the practice, and
2) Disney isn't [โฆ]

I totally get the frustration of being in a non-US country and seeing so much material online that is US-specific. But I also feel like you have to put in a little bit of contextual understanding... I've written lengthy articles about FCC regulations and then gotten complaints that I'm saying [โฆ]
To be fair, the author does get themselves in trouble by listing "Country" among the things you can infer. I genuinely think they might have meant that as in "if you have a ZIP code you are in the US (or a US territory or holding)," which is true, but the text is confusing about it.
I think all the people complaining about the article about ZIP codes being parochial and US-centric are pretty funny, considering that "ZIP code" is a registered trademark of the United States Postal Service.

Kali River Rapids. This is an Intamin river rapids, it's basically identical to a million other river rapids rides as this system is very popular. What's a little more interesting about this one is the Omnimover-esque continuously rotating boarding area, which I [โฆ]

The fog light thing is a little weird because the US version of this truck has the fog light switch on the stalk. But there is a snap-in fog light switch you can find sold online, I think the Japanese version must have used it instead of the stalk switch.
It's [โฆ]

Oh, if you don't get what I'm talking about with the light patterns, this website has a diagram that shows all three common types: https://retrofitlab.com/blogs/news/dot-vs-ece-beam-pattern
US-market vehicles have the "DOT pattern" which I see aftermarket bulb manufacturers usually calling Z [โฆ]
next task: figure out why this thing has fog lights that you can't turn on. Before it was sold, in Japan, someone removed some of the aftermarket radio stuff from it, leaving several switch panels empty. My theory is that the foglights on this came with a snap-in switch and someone either [โฆ]
So one of the downsides of driving a JDM vehicle is the headlight situation. You may not notice as it's fairly subtle, but standard US headlights have a "Z shape" upper cutoff where the cutoff line is slightly higher on the offside (right) side of the light field. It's fairly subtle if you [โฆ]
Spent some idle time today trying again to determine where a likely 1980s-era AT&T fiber route from western New Mexico terminates in Albuquerque.
You would think it's going to an exchange or to Albuquerque Main, but based on pole numbers it must end somewhere in the South Valley near Coors & [โฆ]
I love how pharmaceutical advertising works these days anyway, where they give you a photo of some happy people and the name of a product and "ask your doctor" as if you're going to go to your doctor and rattle off a list of 20 pharmaceuticals that mostly treat things you don't have.

If you, like me, pirate it somewhat carelessly, you'll end up with a random mix of the American broadcast version (Paul Christie narrating) and ??? some UK network version (Dean Lennox Kelly narrating). You'll form strong opinions on which of the two you like more.
