There is so much more now - we could have been there for days!

Man bun dude too!
We’re on it… 😉
It’s ace! Best chips by a mile too. 😋
We are looking at a room with stone flagged floor and beamed ceiling. Two wooden chairs flank a large spinning wheel.
We have been on a busman’s holiday/research trip to Beamish today.
An amazing site with a 1900’s street, 1950’s street, pit village, 1820’s estate and Second World War farm.
Our only photo? The interior of a medieval house. Standard.
Bits of medieval, bits of Victorian and everything inbetween!
Yes! We wonder too. 🤔
🤣
In this case Victorian or Edwardian. 😉
We are looking at a stone mullioned window with an ogee stone frame. On either side you can see small brackets painted in layers of limewash. The window is diamond glazing with a section that used to open.
Morning early birds.
Fancy a nutritious fact to go with your cereal?
The window in this atmospheric photo was built around 1358. The glazing is much newer and replaced shutters (you can just see the fixings for them on either side of the frame).
👏
☺️☺️
Robot rabbits!

Dang we missed off tea! 🫖
Arkivees. Like it. 👍
Woah! No one told us it was International Day of Awesomeness!

Daffodils
Rabbits in medieval manuscripts
Oh and every one of you lovely people. 😍
We are looking at a flower bed in front of the stone medieval chapel at the Hall. It has bright yellow narcissi and various shades of pink cyclamen.
Just some spring flowers and medieval stonework for your delectation and delight.
We do love a daffodil. 💛
Either way we still love it! 🥰
We’d love a statue!
We’re going to have a word with @uoyborthwick.bsky.social and we’ll get it popped in our archive. 😘
It counts for every year! 😍
For those of you who didn’t see this earlier, we received a Valentines Day card from @romanpalace.bsky.social.
Our very first so it’s very special.
We ❤️ these guys.
No!
The Royal Mail are holding them hostage until we pay them a million pounds. 😳
Meanwhile at the Royal Mail…
We are looking at a Valentine’s Day card with two miniature daschunds on the front one of which is holding a postcard with two kisses and a love heart stamp. It has the words A little note from me…to you
We are looking at the inside of the Valentines Day card which says …to say Happy Valentine’s Day. It then says in handwriting: You guys are awesome!!xx Underneath are emojis for a fish, yawn, row, man, palace.
A belated Valentines Day greetings!
We wonder who it’s from…? 🥰
🐟 🥱 🚣 👨 🏰
P.S You forgot to put a stamp on it. 🫢

#curatorrob brings joy every day! 😃
We are looking at a ceramic bellarmine jug with a dent in its side. The pottery is an orange brown colour and is dimpled. The face would have been scored into the wet clay. His cheeks are puffed up and his eyes scrunched with a big grin showing stylised teeth. His beard is long but appears well groomed. Below is another stamp of what looks like a seal with a cross in the middle.
We are looking at two bellarmine jugs and a medieval jug.
This beardy dude is on a Bellarmine wine jug - also known as Bartmann (German for bearded man).
The jugs made in Germany in the 16th and 17th centuries held wine and the bearded men were said to be caricatures of Cardinal Roberto Bellarmino - a severe critic of Protestantism and a teetotaller.
We are looking at a close up of a neck of a ceramic bellarmine jug. The pottery is an orange brown colour and is dimpled. The face would have been scored into the wet clay. His cheeks are puffed up and his eyes scrunched with a big grin showing stylised teeth. His beard is long but appears well groomed.
May the smiley bearded man bring you joy on this Monday.
From a tiny mosaic to a mighty (and very handsome) palace springs! 🥰
