"But I have found one interesting thing. Men, when they are pinned down on the subject, admit that what really irritates them about modern women is that they canβt, or wonβt, give themselves completely to men the way women did in the old days."
oh my god. In 1959!
And a 1959 article on the same subject: www.theatlantic.com/magazine/arc...
Yeah moral panics are evergreen.
I obviously think "women do it! so it's NOT WORTH DOING" is a silly attitude but it's such a pervasive one
See also: reading books!!
this is complicated but there's a correlation between something having mostly women doing it, and it being seen as devalued and useless to the people in real power, and that's what's happening to a college degree right now, especially undergrad
This is sick
rt if u hate nazis and love boobs
we've been watching these German horse girl movies (not to be confused with horse-girl movies that's different) and we finally reached the final chapters of the Windstorm saga. Here's a clip with no context
a shitpost 20 years ahead of its time
couldn't be me
A thing I love about programming on computers is the roller coaster of despair gulf between 'this will never work, nobody could ever do this' and 'never mind it all works perfectly now'
Today I told Alexa to set an oven timer like I do a lot and she said "enjoy the countdown!" after setting it. Why?? No! You time eggs don't try to chit-chat with me!

Picard: It's a computer simulation of thoroughbred horse racing called Umamusume Pretty Derby. The program was quite popular in the 21st century.
Riker: Mm. 'Pretty' is accurate. That Goldship is quite something.
Picard: I hadn't noticed. I enjoy the simulation's tactical qualities.
Riker: Yes, sir.
one of my favorite moments of TNG is when Picard is immediately unable to contain his horse autism
Miss Lita will be debuting a model tomorrow! join her tomorrow for a good retro time.
Last weekend I played 25 demos in 4 days and now I'm going to give my Expert Gamer thoughts. Full thread. Remember that I'm very good at games and VERY smart and wise. For example, I turned around and got pictures for all the posts after initially posting this, in my wisdom.
Pretty sure you can try again!
Scuff and Friction are the heart and soul of a lot of games that are remembered fondly today
Being allowed to have divisive portions of your game that only appeal to specific groups, having characters that kinda suck, even having that one boss everyone hates... all these things are good and right
Per last night's discussion on stream here are my candidates for Poker Night 3

Or guidebooks! In fact I had one that included this exact game and another one for all the Kings Quests
*I couldn't do this augh minor typo....
The game was Maniac Mansion and they only had 4 hours tops! Without familiarity with the game is couldn't do this either. It's a hard one!
I don't read Harper's, but holy shit this is good.
Great illustration of all that is wrong with tech (and why/how San Francisco is an open-air mental hospital), why the sector is collapsing (and will never recover), and why I'm leaving (and why you should, too).
Wow I should have gotten at least a nomination for a nobel peace prize for this post
I don't dress up to impress people. I dress up so that if I randomly turn into a ghost, I won't hate the outfit that I'm stuck wearing forever.
get yourself a girl who can cut together video shorts spin up fresh instances on AWS and set up security then edit a thumbnail to stream video games and do banter for 3 hours all while making sure to make dinner
This bit in the From Russia With Love game made me laugh out loud. You've got a fairly grounded, low key fight based on the one in the movie, then the most video game looking fucker of all time slides into frame.
