This is all part of New Jersey's last minute attempt to put a hold on Congestion Pricing before it comes into effect on Sunday. Lawyers for NJ are arguing that Judge Leo Gordon’s previous ruling actually rescinded key approvals congestion pricing. A hearing is set for Friday to review NJ’s request.

NYPIRG Announces Megan Ahearn as Its New Executive Director Ahearn is NYPIRG’s Eighth Director in Its 50-Year Existence Blair Horner Assumes Role of “Senior Policy Advisor” (New York, N.Y.) – The New York Public Interest Research Group (NYPIRG) today announced that effective January 1, 2025, Megan Ahearn is its new Executive Director. Ms. Ahearn previously served as NYPIRG’s Program Director overseeing NYPIRG’s community and campus policy work. She succeeds Blair Horner and will be NYPIRG’s eighth Executive Director in its 50-plus year existence. As Program Director, Ms. Ahearn led NYPIRG’s advocacy in support of the state’s All-Electric Building Act and New York City’s Local Laws 97 (2019) and 154 (2021)—nation-leading climate laws reducing greenhouse gas emissions from buildings. Ms. Ahearn oversaw NYPIRG’s work to win a statewide ban on hydrofracking in 2015, block proposals to expand fossil fuel infrastructure in New York State, and register tens of thousands of New York voters annually, many of whom are college students new to the voter rolls. She was also NYPIRG’s lead organizer on successful campaigns to stop public college tuition hikes, expand financial aid programs, and increase state aid to public and independent colleges.
