So the regime is anti-affordable housing, quality housing and safe housing. It’s pro keeping people in debt and away from the American dream of homeownership and happy to have people lose their homes when they fall on hard times. I’m not surprised are you?
4th was the incredibly woke office of housing counselors. You know the people who help people figure how to do such woke things such as improving their credit scores, lowering debt, or even how to keep their homes in times of crisis. Not even offices serving the so called American dream are safe.
3rd was part of an office called the Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC), a relatively benign place that oversees among other things, inspections for all of HUD’s rental assistance programs. They oversee the inspections that make sure Section 8 and Public Housing properties are not slum housing.
If CPD grants was 1st, 2nd at HUD to receive the boot was the Office of Environment and Energy. I know you’re all super surprised based on the name right? But this office was doing some pretty incredible work guiding HUD policy around floodplain management, energy codes & building technology.
In addition to kneecapping FHEO, (remember the denials?). RIFs dealt huge blows to CPD HQ staff that fund affordable housing development, community infrastructure, relocation and down payment assistance & even meals on wheels. A few more notable offices were decimated & will post more on that soon.
Only if we actually trim. Time to actually cancel him. We’re all guilty of saying we will and then letting the convenience of the services get in the way of doing it.

So many Feds live paycheck to paycheck. Everyone knows costs keep going up, yet we haven’t seen a raise in years that keeps pace with inflation or rising healthcare costs.

So far it’s looking like Ops, Environmental, Relocation and a few in grant programs. Still don’t have great information.
1. Correction we are allowed to check for RIF Notices since they’re personnel actions however most aren’t or think they can’t.
2. Update I saw a number of more than 400 at HUD.
3. They appear to be eliminating entire positions. This prevents reassignment.
